The false vilification of eggs is particularly hard on those individuals who rely on eggs as an affordable low carb staple. There isn't a low carb food out there that is cheaper than eggs. For many individuals who have limited financial means, eggs are a cheap and accessible alternative when they can't afford meat. Without a heavy reliance on eggs, they simply could not do low carb fully. I appreciate Dr. Berry debunking this study because such misinformation regarding eggs adversely affects the most vulnerable segment of the population - those in the lower income bracket - which also happens to be the most metabolically damaged.

cage free means nothing, just that they are stuffed in a tyson style chicken house all together never to see daylight and not in separate cages-they still eat garbage with antibiotics. Pasture raised is another trick they use sometimes and means if they can reach 2" of grass outside of the chicken house it counts. you want organic grass fed and finished eggs. If you can track the eggs you buy back to the farm they come and talk to them you can also be sure.

Dr. Ken, I'm a true believer in your perspectives and opinions. I am a type 2 diabetic, and about 40 lbs heavier than I want to be at 59 going on 60 yrs. young. I'm an active guy although I do drive truck frequently. I get my exercise from loading and unloading heavy equipment, but obviously that isn't vigorous, cardio type activity. I'm just thankful I get what I get. I've fought weight all my life. Born heavy, lost and maintained my fighting weight through my late teens into early 20's, then just got heavy and battled it ever since. I was a weight lifter/body builder in those "normal weight years", so I did manage to build good muscle mass which I still maintain today thankfully. That is my foundation for choosing the proper lifestyle/diet to live by. I'm not very tall at 5'6", but I do have a pretty rugged, solid upper body strength and muscle structure despite being a bit overweight. Being no stranger to dieting, fasting, and just plain 'ol starvation, I've tried it all. I tell people that I've lost 1000 lbs over the years..the same 10 lbs. over and over. I check my glucose frequently, and it's traditionally high after a night's sleep at anywhere between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. in the 180's to as high as 205 ml range. I've seen it down around 140 or lower after breakfast, and after a little work or labor and burning off some excess sugar. I am on 4 meds at the moment, 2 of which I can't pronounce. Jardiance is one, Atorvastatin another, Pioglitazone, and Lisinopril which is a blood pressure reducer (was a little high around 144/80, so the Dr. put me on that a couple years ago now. He had me on Metformin a couple of years ago, but luckily I listen to my system closely and I had to throw that stuff away...it was killing me. It had all kinds of adverse effects on me. He kind of just shrugged that off when I told him, and replaced it with the other drugs which by the way... I hate to admit I'm on. What I'm facing now is the challenge of getting a DOT medical card. I usually pass the physical with flying colors and get a 2 year card every physical. This last one in December 2021, I only got a 3 month card due to excessive sugar in my urine. That's what these drugs are doing. It's a pain in the neck having to pee every hour, 24 hrs a day. I want to eliminate the drugs 100%, and I want to get down to my fighting weight once again and feel good. I also want to reverse the type 2 diabetes and show the doctor that I can do it by diet, not by drugging up. Again, I admire your knowledge more than you know, I truly appreciate your commitment to sharing the information you do, and I am taking notes and will begin a carnivore plan today. If you read this and feel like you'd be willing to message me directly for advice and direction, I would really appreciate that immensely. Thank you for what you're doing doc...

The comment I've been looking for. I started eating 3 eggs a day maybe 2 months ago but before that when I would eat eggs I'd eat atleast 6. I'm hungry and all I have is eggs and chicken breast and I already ate 2 breasts and 3 eggs today. Every day I eat 2 chicken breasts and 3 eggs except when I fast. I was going to eat them anyways, I just feel way better about it now! Thanks for your comment

I love Dr Berry and his message! Unfortunately in my case the carnivorous diet doesn't work: ( l've been doing for 10 months and just recently got my tests results: A1c went from 6.7 to 6.5. I eat tons of eggs and beef. Anybody has similar experience? Or only me is the freak of nature?

LCHF for 24 years. Lots of eggs. But not much Blood Glucose. average fasting BG is great, at 83, with low fasting insulin (1.9). But no big surprise, because I've been LCHF for 24 years. Most of the time I eat about 16 eggs each week.

It’s probably the toast everyone eats with eggs that gives you diabetes!

I agree that the carbs are more of a culprit than just eggs by itself. I don't eat many carbs or high fat diet. I hope I have incorporated a good balance in my diet.

Oh geez. I eat two eggs daily...and I get tested every 6 months. My blood work NEVER shows that I am pre-diabetes ever. I am 67, and I eat a clean diet with red meats (minimal), fowl, seafood, minimal carbs, plenty of fresh vegetables and avocados.

I remember those news stories in the 90’s when I was a kid. That eggs 🥚 caused high collateral and in turn heart attacks. I remember my mom saying oh what does science know they change their minds every month 😂😂 little did we know it was the media but funny just the same 😅 I remember we ate nothing but eggs 🍳 and bacon 🥓 for breakfast every weekend and I was a very thin teenager and 20 year old while most of our friends were obese in H.S, I didn’t start gaining unhealthy weight until I started working two jobs to put myself through college and was eating all sorts of carbs and trans fats like donuts 🙈 now I’m proudly getting back to the way my parents and grandparents ate 🙏🏼

I usually steer away from studies unless I know if they are done from independent laboratories, and not funded by other agencies. Because if they are funded by other agencies their findings has to make their funders happy which in return make their findings null and void in my book any way.

Curious... since I was a boy, I was told that diabetes was hereditary. I’m assuming, after watching your video’s, that diabetes is more related to my diet than genes. Would you concur?

Type II diabetes is mostly caused by lifestyle. It used to be the small minority of total diabetes patients but nowadays it’s the vast majority. Type I is genetic.

Everyone eats the same food as their parents as a kid. Your similar diet may cause diabetes to occur in both parent and child, but diabetes passing down genetically isnt supported by science.

saw a magazine at natural grocers today that said '' plant based diet- THE WORLDS HEALTHIEST DIET!'' AND HOW TO DO
@robbanks50233 жыл бұрын
I agree with Ken on everything except that this isn't done knowingly. Eggs are one of the healthiest, nutrient rich foods people can eat. A healthy diet with eggs will keep us out of the hospital and off the meds, powerful people do not want this. They want us sick, filling their pockets with our wealth. As he said first it was heart attacks , now diabetes, what will it be next. I don't believe in coincidences that always turn out to hurt us, if it was a natural mistake once in a while it would be helpful. 😃😊👍

When I first heard this "new news" I just shook my head. I immediately connected the chickens intake of grains & wheat and thought that is why they put the connection to it. It's just too ridiculous to even make a big conversation about "eggs cause Diabetes" due to the small intelligence that would believe it.

Eggs are awesome!! I will share my personal story. I have been eating two eggs for breakfast almost daily for the past several years and my A1C has been in the 5.9-6.2 range for the past 10+ years. My cholesterol has been on the high end of normal with the occasional dip into the abnormal range, but quickly corrected. My abnormal numbers are usually due to my less than optimal eating habits during the usual periods, holidays, etc. I am still a sucker for pasta and bread, but am slowing that down as well. A good diet is all I need to reach the optimal state. I am working on improving my diet and eggs will still be a big part of it.

I’m a type 2 diabetic, 54 years old. Workout 3 times per week, A1C of 71, and I eat 3 eggs pasture raised eggs every day, so about 90-100 per month. My cholesterol check came back perfect, and mind you, I had to ask for it. Make sure people that you guide your Doc so that you can get your information about your numbers.

Oh crap! I started watching Dr Berry 5 wks ago & started eating how he suggested because I was just told I'm pre-diabetic... so even though I've lost 30lbs & all my labs are now in the ideal numbers as well as my blood pressure, I'm now going to get diabetes from all the eggs in place of oatmeal? Sorry, I can't go back to high carbs & watch my blood glucose go through the roof. Y'all have helped save my life, Thank You!
