Got mine over the weekend. The comment below about the solo boost.....This is a 4 channel amp. 2 clean and 2 overdrive. You can set channel four for your solo boost...Lots of amp here and very refined. I shopped all the boutique amps out there...this one is special.

This is the best bang for your buck amp Egnater makes in my opinion,and the effects loop,and back pannel in general have some of the best features that most amps in this range do not have..The smaller stuff like the 20's and 30's are just way to expensive.This is Egnaters best amp to date in my opinion.

@watchtheskies It is possible to control the Tourmaster via Midi. Just contact Egnater! There website says - We can supply you with a pinout of the pedal. You will simply need to have a breakout cable made to connect to the relay outputs of your MIDI controlled device to the Tourmaster.

I like how he called the trac-lock caster exclusive to egnator being that mesa has been using for years.

Yeah, I like the sound. I have a RKII and a Lonestar. I use the Lonestar primarily. The RKII seems slightly compressed to me. I wil likely sell it and get something more 'open' sounding. I'll give Egnater a look when that time comes.

I bought one last night... it's the best amp I've ever owned.

They(Tukwila) have the combo which doesnt quite sound like the head for some reason. Maybe its because I am using my 212 Mesa cab with the head instead of the Vin 30's seattle store next weekend JOE Satriani will be there... also Seattle has a head in the quiet room to try..

I didn't notice anywhere in his post where he said class A/B is a bad thing. The reason why a lot of amps are class A/B is because most people prefer it.

I've been wondering about this...nowhere can I can find the wiring class of this amplifier - not even in the "under the hood" section on the website! Oh well, even if it is class A/B, you know it's gonna have a really creamy clean sound

Now tone can be a subjective thing but I have to really disagree with those who are saying this amp has no tone. I bought the half stack last week and though it does take a bit of work to find it, this amp has some amazing tone. I agree with the previous poster about the contour thing, but it is a button and if you don't dig that tone, you don't have to push the button.

yea but a bunch of those guys, all played a variety of amps. Stevie Ray Vaughan played a Fenders as his main amps, Clapton played both Marshalls and Fenders and relies now on mainly fenders, Townshend mainly played Hiwatts and then later marshalls, Hammet plays Randalls, Page plays Oranges as much as marshalls, and Joe perry plays Vox amps as well as Marshalls and probably a large variety of amps. Basically no one amp can get the perfect sound &you will find great artists play a variety of amps

This was meant to be a reply to a post where someone asked if it was class A. Not to call into question the "goodness" of the amp. Both class A and class A/B amps have their place and can sound great. This amp certainly does!

such a great sounding amp, but one thing stopping me buying one, it's screaming out for MIDI switching, this amp goes right up against the Marshall JVM410H and Blackstar series one amps, which all have MIDI switching a great 4 channel amp is just the thing to integrate with a MIDI rig Bruce if you ever decide to make a 4100 with MIDI then you'll have my money for sure

I have this amp. Very nice amp. BUT I personally know six guitarists with various Egnaters. EVERY SINGLE one of their amps power transformers blew within the first 2 years, if not before...including mine. I bought mine off a friend who collects amps. It was never played. Every amp tech I've talked to say that the Eganter's transformers are cheap. Talked to Egnater to fix it. They said it was going to be 8 weeks before I got it back. It was a bad scenario. Great sounding amp, really sketchy transformer.

You mean egnater tourmaster wont last?
@tjhall93773 жыл бұрын
I can attest to this that these amps are finicky. I’ve owned two - one the power transformer blew which was like a $400 fix. The other, random stuff keeps happening (pots ground out, contour switch cuts out, the density and presence section randomly maxes out/bypasses). Unfortunately I’m going to recommend against ever getting one and it had nothing to do with the sound which is out of this world. You’ll never be able to get it fixed again if it breaks. The parts factory burned down earlier this year and the uniqueness of the circuits coupled with the supply chain shortage, the guy at my local guitar shop basically said there will be no hope for getting the thing fixed anytime soon. Luckily the channels and features I need still work and I am just going to capture it with an amp profiler (just got a Neural DSP Quad Cortex) and then put the actual amp away forever, which is a damn shame.

Many years later, it turns out that this amp EATS expensive toroidal power transformers and many owners won't pay for a replacement. The transformer is under spec'ed for the load of the amp. I would AVOID this amp at all costs. The transformer alone is like 360 dollars.

I agree Marshall's are over priced production made amps that sound like total garbage. And the only good Marshall for a modern amp is the 6100 LM anniversary series and that's it But even so doesn't even compare to the old Mesa Marks or any Rivera or Bedrock for that matter.
@CROW_DOG13 жыл бұрын
It all sounds very biscuit like. Abit of alsorts but nothing great - sorry Egnator but you can't do this sort of mixing stuff. It's like having tea and coffee. Listen to music and you will get what I mean.
