You wont in a walk behind, greenworks is the closest you will get. Greenworks 30" has steel deck, dual battery port: it's s sort of similar to a Toro time master 30" gas model

I am a commercial landscaper. A couple of years ago I switched almost my whole fleet to ego. That is one of the worst business mistakes I have made. Tools don’t last, batteries don’t last. No service centers. Terrible customer service. I had a select cut xp that stopped working in about a year of working, what was ego’s solution? Just buy a new one. It is not very environmentally friendly to be throwing equipment to the land fill, because there stuff is not repairable.

I wonder if you were premature. They seem to be responding to commercial needs. One way I know? This mower’s side discharge chute sends clippings to the left, following the tangential path of the clippings as they leave the blade out the back. Which means they had actual users test it. All the previous models tried to make it shoot to the right by literally bending the air path 90 degrees to the right. So, they are actually paying attention to some smaller details and not presuming that everyone is reverse Zoolander and can only turn left. Edit: oh snap, he actually mentions it in the video lol. They don’t *include* the chute, like with previous models, which is BS, it’s just a HDPE flap

@@josealvarenga9967 Agree on the no service centers, if you don't know the part your screwed. Fix it your self is the only option with Ego. Just call they're customer service line. You'll see for yourself.

After almost 10 years they FINNALLY changed the rear discharge chute direction. It clogged every.single.time. and i even tried making my own chute to make it chute to the left instead to the right which created a sharp turn and constant clogging.

I have been running a base model EGO for 4 years now, this mower appears to address literally every issue I’ve had. The lower blade speed, the side chute, having to use a bagging blade to get enough lift, even the deck, though the plastic hasn’t really been a problem on mine.

I own both..Honda for continuous power / long term very cheap to operate, low cost and easy to properly maintenanc and then the Ego for when I need quiet mowing ...grass is not too high@@lauretiu

So, i just bought this yesterday. I may return it today. The instructions STINK. The Bluetooth connects BUT... Don't connect to the 22' just the 21! How do I mulch with it? What the book says, it doesn't even fit that way. $1,200 for just a mower and battery is ridiculous. Yes, i paid that but didn't expect issues right away! Oh, the Bluetooth app hasn't been UPDATED SINCE 2022!!! No customer support number?

How about a 30" version so many of us have an alternative to our Toro Timemaster. Only other suggestion is pneumatic tires like zero turn. Ruts from weight of all wide area walk behind whether residental or commerical is a big issue. BTW, alternating weekly cutting patterns do little to eliminate wheel ruts from 100+ pound walk behind mowers with non-pneumatic wheels.

1299 is not accurate, you can find this for about 899 somewhere. Honestly, you expecting cheap from a 2024 model that is also marketed towards professionals isn't realistic either. I remember seeing metal deck gas models sold by Honda years ago that were easily 900 bucks for professional use.

Actually if you do simple math and hit a cycle point per battery this mower willl essentially pay you after a certain point. My electric mower currently has only costed me 60 bucks over 3 years taking into account charging costs and projected gas consumption of a standard mower 😮😮😮😮

I don't know what your experiences are, but I've run over dead fall, mulched up old blackberry cane's up to 2" that a hedge trimmer would struggle with. It's all in how you approach things, I guess. Tbh, I don't like hitting anything other than grass with it. It means I have to spend time sharpening blades more and dull blades mean bad cuts on grass. Sticks and other crap are a potential insurance claim if it strikes a coworker or customers house. Be smart about it..

My non-commercial ego 21 is still going on the same battery for the 4th year. Their first release string trimmer, still in use by me, although the 2.5 ah battery I gave away. 10 years is possible but not with current battery tech. I've moved to Stihl Kombi electric model for some bigger jobs.

yeahhh... no i'm good! the prices you hear these days do not make any sense to me. i mean yeah it's cool not to have to do an oi change 1 time an year but is it really worth it that much more to pay for A MOWER just so you don't change the oil once a year? lol i have a Honda mower that i haven't changed the oil in 4 y and that thing is running like a champ first pull! only changed the oil in it 2 times since 2016. And the price of a battery it's pretty much the price of a new gas mower these days. a few y back i was a believer now I'm reverting to gas again

I had to change oils once a month for my mowing business. Got tired of it on top of the workload. Just depends on the demographic and I’ll say that battery equipment has made it way easier for me now.

I gave away my Honda mower after 6 years of use. Yes, it pull starts like a champ, but their propulsion mechanism was unreliable. It broke a lot. For a commercial application, it's not just once a year for oil.. it's every 6 months x number of mowers you own. Just because you can ignore equip maintenance or abuse it, it doesn't mean you should.

Deceptive and misleading … 19,000 feet/second tip speed with a 22 inch deck and 21 inch blade installed you would need to spin the blades at over 200,000 RPM! Absolutely BS because the speed of sound at sea level is 1100 feet/second. 19,000 feet per/second is 12,954.546 miles per hour The Commercial mower is supposed to have a no load RPM in its highest speed setting of 3,300 … having tested one it won’t crack 3,000 RPM so at 21 inch blades this is absolutely BS that it’s almost illegal because its approaching the speed of sound as you need thousands of more RPM to get it close.
