True also in CAPF e.g. IPS w.r.t Cadre officers. A lot of women in position of great strength don't hesitate to destroy lives and careers of CAPF officials and don't make amends decades later, even when Courts ask them to. Saying it from personal experience and numerous real life cases I have been witness to. Not just a few but too many of them to ignore what the Corps Commander has stated. May Nature correct them! Yet many of them are good souls indeed !

I have been brought up I defense atmosphere... nurses are cocky because patients attendant don't listen to their instructions.. I have seen many times at Lucknow Command Hospital. One small example is that post operated patients are advised to be on a liquid diet, but their family feed them samosa. Another time, one person brought his mother at 12 o 'clock for empty stomach blood withdrawal. The nurse was not able to withdraw blood due to long hours fasting , yet they wanted the best treatment . Like that, there are many examples ...

This is not a deficiency in Women COs but a lack of their grooming for Command. The dilution in standards and parameters for Women Officers must be removed and equal standards must be introduced. We must realise that Women Officers have got Permanent Commission and COs appointments through Court Orders, not Through the Regular System. Maybe that is why they behave thus. Treat them equally and Not preferentially. Assess and Promote them strictly as such. Surely they have observed how their Male COs behave. Why do they behave differently.

As a sailor who served 15 years in the Indian Navy, I can frankly say Short Service Commission Officers are not fit to command a Unit or Ship. There is a huge difference in leadership qualities between those trained for permanent commission and those for Short Service. I have served under hundreds of officers in my 15 years of service, and on my first day of work with any new officer I can tell if an officer is of Short commission or Permanent Commission. While I am all for gender equality, making women officers as CO's, who are trained for Short Commission is a sure way to create chaos in the forces. I cannot even imagine serving under them. It is evident that incompetent officers become insecure within the setup of military discipline, and they tend to misuse power to alleviate their insecurities. There will be lots of talks within the lower ranks, and internal disrespect grows as much as incompetent officers tries to compensate their incompetency with ego and power. While we support gender equality we need to know its place, nothing like you have to appoint a lady Short Service Officer to command your ship or unit! That's total chaos. I am relieved I did not get to serve under women COs during my service years

The standards we evaluate officers against should also be regularly measured for their relevance towards someone being a competent officer. This half hearted move towards equality may be making it harder to move towards complete equality.

Once inducted ,they don't want to do any strenuous or physically demanding duties. They aren't deployed for dirty and dangerous jobs. They whine,and moan and cry about everything. They sham illness to go on sick report to evade difficult duties. They demand special treatment because they are women. And finally, they can allege sexual harassment at any time and ruin their colleagues careers. They lower the operational efficiency of any unit in which they serve.

When I was in command western there was a female officer, I heard from other officers that she was strict but when I did present my task and Idea she was totally flexible and liked my work. I think the question here really is: were those women officers who have been promoted to command gone through all the mandatory tests, courses and qualifications required to command. Let's not generalise all women officers. Right now, because of the Supreme Court judgement, women officer have got a chance to compete based on equal merits with their male counterparts. Leadership in services such as ordinance, ASC, EME are not physically demanding like infantry. So, a specific gender of an officer may not make a very huge impact, rather, the one who has better technical acumen and management skills shine better.

This is true. Not only me but many people have faced this issue in Military Hospitals. Not all Lady officers but yes we have faced this. It seemed like they are not doctors, they are boss there. Can you believe just with a rank of Major, they were behaving with people like they are not doing the job but doing ehsaan on ppl. So much harsh with ORs and juniors and even with their families. I remember there was some soldier's daughter before me who entered into cabin, we were able to hear the conversations waiting outside. That girl told that she is facing a lot of acne issues on face, what the lady officer doctor replied harshly was : "kyu tujhe miss world me jana h kya?". These are the things that civilians don't know.

Many people in the comments section are just giving their opinions such that women are not capable. But that's wrong. There should be proper training of the women officers before giving the charge of Commanding Officer. It is true that they were joined the forces as Short Service Commissioned Officers and that's why, there is a lack in them handling the Commanding roles. So they need to be trained properly at first. 2ndly we all need to remember that out of 108, the size of this sample survey is very less only 8. So we can't determine every officer's behavior with this small survey. Male and Female both should be given a chance after proper training from the beginning. Jai Hind 🇮🇳
