I accidentally ran over a car mat and it stopped working. Only thing that works is the self propel. No lights or blade engage. Any idea ?
@boxelder91672 ай бұрын
@@dreewpee7957 it’s got some kind of safety where if the blade is overtightened, it will not start. I would try taking the blade off and see if it will run without the blade. May also have an obstruction that is not allowing the blade to turn. That doesn’t explain why the lights don’t come on though. Also the battery contacts can get dirty and cause it to read as a faulty battery. Clean the battery compartment and then the contact points. Also double check the handle is fully extended. Even one side being a little bit down can cause it to break the circuit. Even when it looks good like 1/8 of an inch can cause it to not start. Let me know if you solve the problem so I can add to the body of knowledge.

i got a problem my ego too ! they start running then stop after 5 second ! do u have any idea about that ?

Do the lights come yellow and flash even when it’s fully charged? If they do then the battery is shot. You may find that if you try to start it over and over it will run for a while then start flashing again. I bought some replacement batteries because they were all shot after about 3 years or so. On hot or cold days they were worse even though I was able to get them to work sometimes. Also check the blade to make sure it spins freely and doesn’t have some kind of string wrapped around the shaft underneath the blade.

Try cleaning out the battery compartment on the mower really well. I know it sounds crazy but something was interfering with the electrical contacts on mine reducing the amps under load causing the microcontroller to throw an error and trip the circuit. Blowing out the contacts and the bottom of the battery compartment fixed my problem permanently.

Um electrical tape does not stop. Corrosion. Better off with shrink and crimp.

You are correct and that’s good advice. My temporary fix will likely outlast the deck though and has already outlasted the life of the battery which I replaced with an off brand. It is still working fine since I “fixed it”.😀 Thanks for the comment and the advice.

I just got mine and it doesn't work

@@Snulge Make sure the handle is fully extended. There is a safety switch in the handle that makes it so it won’t start until the handle is fully extended. Next check that you depress the green button then pull the lever down on the handle. If you have already pulled the lever down you have to start over and push the green button in and hold it down while you press the lever down.

@@boxelder9167 Yep it was the last one! I'm just an idiot haha. Thank you very much! It was perfect for my yard.

@@Snulge - Glad to help. Careful with the plastic pins that hold the handle out because they break super easily. I drilled a hole through the edge and put a cotter key in there for a permanent fix. And I think my brain was on vacation the first time I tried to make the same mistake you made. I probably spent 30 minutes trying to figure it out before I called someone else who had one.

@@boxelder9167 Haha I even put aside my pride and read the manual yet somehow missed how to turn it on. I was trying to tighten the blade down thinking it was that. I'll keep that in mind. I will replace them as well. Thanks again!

@@Snulge - Glad you figured it out. Come back here if you accidentally leave it out in the rain. I show how to do a bypass fix to get around the safety switch that fails after it gets wet. Also I picked up a few of the off brand knock off batteries and they are much cheaper and work great. I can cycle 3 batteries for continuous mowing if I want to mow all day. The grass catching works ok if it’s short enough and dry enough to fly into the bag otherwise it will plug the shoot if tall or wet. If it gets too hot it will flash at you for a few seconds. If you take a few minutes and resume it will let you use more of the battery.
