It's not that cops don't necessarily know the Law. The issue is you are talking about Constitutional Law (Law of the Land). Cops are trained to enforce Contract / Admiralty Law (Law of the Sea), The Law of the BAR, Vatican, Bankers, Antichrist (Lucifer). The God of the Sea includes; Poseidon (Greek) / Neptune (Roman) / Dagon (Sumerian) / Lucifer (Latin). This is why they wear Antichrist badges.

Yeah, it's a chicken or the egg type scenario. At some point, a good portion of them knew the code, and just ignored it, so they could commit crimes. Yes what you say is very good. They even used to be somewhat like that. A recruit to the police academy used to have to have some education in criminal justice. They used to teach them the basics of law so that they hit the streets knowing that and in their early days learn the deeper lessons on the job. When 9/11 happened it all changed. They started teaching cops more about how to apprehend people than what the peoples rights are. Oh and a good recruit just needed to follow orders. That silly education had no place in policing. Remember the police have no duty to citizens safety but a hard wired duty for officers safety.

If the cops pull you from a car and instantly starts patting you down that's illegal, he has to say why he thinks you have a weapon on you. Absolutely the correct fix. Put the recording on the cloud (if you can), but also allow the person to save the interaction as the terminate the call. It's super common in remote tech service to be able to do this with those sessions from either side for legal reasons, but it just makes sense here. It is VERY hard to re-initiate a cloud storage connection that has been lost and equally as hard to connect two disparate sessions together without demanding a bunch of info before starting the call which isn't practical here. You COULD use the ticketing system to detect a person on an un-ticketed call and log a ticket automatically to that source phone number and use some pretty basic analysis to combine these dropped calls together somehow. That juice might not be worth the squeeze until you're fully scaled up though.

@terrenceodonnell6347 Hi there, I'm Fasil. You're right, but I was making a generalization. Police are taught "tactical communication", and they have a selective memory of case law, and state statutes depending on how it suits there immediate goals. If there is a law that lets them do what they want, they can can recall it easily. But if there is a law that would bar them from doing something that would benefit them in the moment, it slips their mind, and they know qualified immunity would save them if it becomes an issue later. Perhaps there is some overlap, though. A passenger can ordered out of a stopped vehicle, but unless there is a crime specific to that passenger (seatbelt, littering, and such) 38.02 would still protect them. I think.

LIA actually used it during a retaliatory stop recently. Cop wrote him FOUR tint tickets, one for each window! Did NOT use a tint meter, AND local law allows rear windows to be ANY tint level. @TacticalT "Authority for the seizure ends when tasks tied to the traffic infraction are, or reasonably, should be, completed." Extending the traffic stop beyond what the average time normally takes seems reasonable if the printer malfunctioned. Obviously extended within reason. Going from normally 15-30 minutes to 40-45 min because printer failed, I don't see as unreasonable so long the officer doesn't try expanding on the reasons the stop was initiated. If the officer did try and expand, the failed printer would be highly suspicious. Though I would also add that policy should be in place to document requests for and completion of repairs to back up such a claim of equipment failure.
