I like these high intensity works. This one though felt choppy to me and hard to stay with, but is still worth revisiting. It has been added to my collection to revisit.

Wellesz is a new and much appreciated discovery for me. Thanks for posting. Sorry about the other that thinks that because you shared some music you are required to compose liner notes.

Where do you manage to find so much music? In the roughly seven years you've been posting, 1,800 videos have been released. And if you divide the number of videos by the number of days, then on average you will get somewhere around 0.7 uploaded videos per day.

I've been collecting from a number of different sources for many years. I still have many symphonies I could upload but haven't had the time to be able to do it. And then there are all the concertos!

Not only has anyone listened to make comments, there is also a lack of data on the composer and his works. Couldn't you at least put in a few things about his 9 symphonies, 4 masses, 10 string quartets, 5 operas and chamber music as well as his flight to England in 1938

Wellesz is one of the most overlooked composers of the 20th century and the 9th is his most poignant symphony, even more so than the 8th, which is already the burning work of a raw soul (and vice-versa).

An atmospheric work whose air is too thin for my taste. it's more acerbic and less melodic than Wellesz' Third Symphony, which I had just enjoyed much more. The second movement holds some humor, but in general the work's striving for effect becomes annoying and detracts from whatever substance it has. Its beauty lies in its orchestration, which is definitely its strength.
