To add to your exterior that ALOT of people miss. The rear quarter window trim also known as the “sail panel”. On the GT and cobra, the panel arched straight down. On the Bullitt and Mach 1, it cuts back in. I know it’s not important and most don’t ever notice it but it is unique.

The mach 1 gauges are unique as well, also only the manual transmission machs have a forged crank. The cams are also different compared to other 4v 4.6s which allow mach 1s to flow much better.

Actually their cams are weaker than the old 4V Cobra cams. You can get about 20 RWHP swapping to 96 Cobra intake cams

@@331Grabber They're not weaker, they just make power lower in the powerband compared to Cobra. Mach 1 cams produce more torque down low. Cobra cams make more power higher in the powerband.

@@chrism.728 I meant less aggressive. There's a good 20+ rear wheel HP in a Cobra intake cam swap. It raises the power peak about 400-500 RPM and doesn't hurt low end that much. Though I would go to 3.73 gears to make it perfect.

How about mentioning the R Code in the VIN number which has a direct lineage to the original MACH 1s. This designation is only for MACH 1s,

The brake calipers are made by PBR of Australia not Brembo, they were also used on the C4 Corvettes.

I had my competition orange Mach one from new till about 2016 79k. Did well when I sold it, but still miss it a little. I had the black panel between my tail lights that you can buy from the same company that did the mach one conversion on the Mustangs for Ford. Classic Design Concepts was the name of the company. That honeycomb panel added a lot to the look of that car. Put it on 1 or 2 days after I got the car. My a pillars inside were different from my 03 GT and any other 04 that I worked on. Tech 35yrs. Fun car. Beat my 130mph speeding ticket and decided to sell. If you knew me you'd get it.

I bought my 03 Mach 1 when it was cheap. They have skyrocketed in price lately but I got mine for 15k with 20k miles 7 years ago. Never selling it so I do what I want to it and drive it like hell 😂

I have a 2004 mach 1 ...completely stock they run very well..The ride and the small cockpit are not great for long rides when you have had 13 spine surgeries.... But for playing for a few hours its fun

the mach 1 rear bumper was clipped off of a v6 mustang, i thought it was kinda corny, they could have at least had its own mach 1 bumper

I know these are rare but would love to see someone actually take a 69-70 Fastbask body and transfer the body on to a 2003-04 chassis which we see guys doing crazy things with the newer Mustang chassis and old Mustang body's.

For some reason I thought the black honeycomb rear deck lid cover and rear window louvers were also a Mach 1 feature or option. Guess all I saw were custom add-ons.

Also other differences are 1/4!windows Tokico shocks & stiffer springs ( 1 lower) than GT Besides the shaker is the"Hood " Factory 3:55 gears - compared to 3:27 on GT Cluster & speedo Azure blue ( mach 1 ) exclusive Only Available as a (coupe) no Convertibles Available only in 2003-2004

Mark Rogers actually NO Screaming yellow was a standard color for all Mustangs My brother had an 04 GT in Screaming yellow And ive seen a few v6 models on the road. Google it and you’ll see, i do know it was a 2004 exclusive color tho. 2003- was a Zinc Yellow

So what I would like to know is what kind of power can you get out of it keeping it naturally aspirated ? back in 2004 I bought the cobra I had my heart set on the Mach 1 but my friend talked me into the cobra I have no regrets I loved it but I still have that love for this Mach 1 Would like a little bit more power but I would still like to keep it naturally aspirated

What about the rear side windows? No other Mustang has them shaped like that. A main way to tell a genuine one from a fake.

This actually was the carryover design from the 94 restyle up to 98. In my opinion they kind of went backwards when they did the new Edge restyle in 99 with those sail panels. They look a lot better cut in on the bottom like the bullitt and Mach 1!

Great video. But the title is extremely misleading...if not just inaccurate. You’re listening what you like about Mach 1’s, which I totally agree w you on, but that title implies what concerns you should look for when buying one of these 16 year old cars. I thought it was gonna be about helpful info on how to not get screwed when buying one of these amazing cars. Still a cool video though
