EGR BAD STUCK Behave Test - CLEANING + TESTING EGR Valve - How to repair diagnosis problem

In this Video, I'm cleaning the EGR and TESTING it on how it behave. By understanding the behavior of the EGR, you can easily diagnosis the problem quickly and simply. This is an EASY DIY Clean the EGR valve and passages using a few common tools and EGR valve with carb cleaner. By having it function normally, you can restored engine performance and saved your engine and from irreversible damage.
Here is a small function of the EGR Valve: During operation, the EGR system pulls a small amount of exhaust gases from the exhaust manifold through the EGR valve, into the intake manifold, and back into the combustion chambers. Theses gases mix with the air-fuel mixture inside the cylinders to reduce high temperatures during the combustion process.
Example of bad EGR symptoms:
--- Solenoid valve sticks open.
--- Solenoid valve sticks closed or passages become clogged.
--- The engine idles erratically, surges, rough and even stalls as it warms up or as you drive at low speeds.
--- Engine cylinders temperatures will increase, leading to a knocking condition.
--- Tapping / Ticking noise coming from the engine
--- Car / Truck computer will trigger the Check Engine light or MIL (malfunction indicator light).
Depending on your car's / Truck's make and model, your engine may be using one of three common types of EGR Valves: Vacuum controlled (older models), electronic-vacuum controlled valve (In the Video), or the new electronic controlled digital valve.
Clean the valve and EGR system passages every 18 or 24 months as part of your vehicle maintenance schedule.
NOTE: In this Video is 4.3L in a Blazer / S10, but you can apply this to ANY Car / Truck!

The EGR helps cool down the cyclinders in the Engine. Prevents overheating. It should be replaced at 100k mikes or as needed. Impacts you emission testing as well.

Very informative video I have gone through so many videos on you tube and im happy I found yours my xar is behaving this way like wen u make the hole bigger it wants to die and runs like crap can't wait to clean egr valve

If you can't clean it, check eBay cause they are pretty cheap. You can get the knocked-off one for cheap and it will do the same job.

It's the same principle. Part looks a bit different on Suzuki F6a, but the same principle. Just open it, clean it and see if it works. If stuck or weak, you will need to buy a new one!

Man I've been looking in how to test the Intake gasket for a leak forever with out shop time. Thank you it puked with the intake under load and found my p0300.

Hello sir I'm wondering if the EGR is bad on my 1996 2.4L tacoma, I've cleaned the air throttle body, iac valve and the MAF sensor. I don't have any leaks on any lines and I did notice heavy carbon build up in the intake manifold. It idles fine in park but when I step on the gas it doesn't fly it slowly climbs and it has a vibration in the cabin and seat when at a red light or when I'm in d or r without my foot on the accelerator. I recently had my engine rebuilt, my car has 268k miles and I'm the 4th owner. Any suggestions? Motor mounts are in good condition, wheels balanced and alignment set along with the suspension is all in good condition.

Sound like 'Power' issues. Check your Battery or Spark Plug Terminal Cable or Spark Plugs or even the Ignition Coil Module. There is also a Wire that goes from Ignition Module Cable to Hub Cap... Check that too, very important. That ONE Cable can be bad overtime or when lots of milage and CAN give you lots of headaches !!

It can yes. When I block it completely, the Car would hesitate or not start at all like something choking it. It will give sparks and try though, keep that in mind.

Jordan my car shakes and runs very rough and shudders when I drive it.its just a weekend car but I already did everything to it except cleaning be egr hopfulky this solves my issue

Also check your tail pipe. If you see lots of steam coming out or water dripping. It's a sign of Head Gasket Leaks. That would be another possibility too why it shakes and very rough. NOTE: In my case, it happens when 45 miles ++++

@@JodBronson the leak is only on the outside i don't believe it internal ,no smoke nor water on tail pipe its leaking on both side left and right its a inline 6 engine like on both side of piston 3 kid you not on the header side where it was leaking i add alot of orange gasket maker and hasn't leaked ever since but on the opposite side can't get to it cuz it has all the stuff like harness in the way
