I've heard alot of comments and questions about my 04 f250 how much troubles have i had etc. Well 185k miles and so far FICM is only thing that needed to replace. Now im planning to do egr delete and while at it, replace oil cooler. This truck will serve my family for a many years to come👍

This is a great video.I like the calling out of wrench sizes. It also is a good comment as to why it might cost some money to replace parts due to all the work just to access things. I agree with others, Diesel tech Ron is smiling in heaven.

this kind of headache is the reason I don't have any diesel fords ,,I Am a Ford/chevy guy but hate powerstrokes after having owned one I went old school with a few modern touches ,,I tow a lot but hated fixing my diesel truck constantly , completely restored a 1984 F250 ,modernized it more than a little under the hood removed everything , and installed a totally custom built 460 that's turned into a 478 ,,not really built for racing but i got just the right combination with twin T3 turbos and intercoolers feeding through the stock EFI intake ,,,,it's got an impressive torque band and is surprisingly zippy for a big block V8 ,coupled to a 6 speed ZF transmission and gear vendors overdrive it'll outpull just about any diesel truck and gets impressive gas mileage when unloaded

Tech: smashing the FICM around like it’s a hammer. Coach: look at that a used Fikuum🤪 Tech: still carelessly smashing everything around the engine bay and cowl. Coach: Look at the junkyard writing on it.... (actually a professional wrote the install date as do most technicians on a very expensive prone to fail electronic lets you know without hours of calling and pissing off customers trying to find out if it’s still under warranty) Coach: one of them Bulletproof Diesels huh? 🤔 Coach: cuts camera as he ignorantly throws the 1200$ couple month old 58Volt better than OEM Fuel Injection Control Module that the customer just had installed Onto a concrete floor. I don’t know who’s worse the guy carelessly rushing through the job breaking stuff, dropping stuff and pinching very crucial wiring harnesses using them as pry points? Or the guy that I bet owns the shop that is driving the tech crazy making him rush through to get a bigger profit margin and to promote his shop on KZbin. No I’m not a troll, I’m an ASE certified L1, H2 and E1-8 certified heavy equipment technician. I’ve worked on hundred of 6.0s. Cabs off before breakfast. Cabs on by dinner. Does this mechanic really know what he’s doing? It definitely seems like it But is like to see how fast he can put it all back together. Nothing had rhyme or reason in order that parts came out and were thrown on the owners Cowl and windshield. Good luck to you guys! I hope you are still keeping 6.0s alive. My favorite truck as long as you service it and preventative maintenance. It will treat you good. Most of these costly problems that everyone panics about rear their ugly heads and let you know something bad is coming 6months to a year in advance

this guy is a very good mechanic, but seeing this video it makes me appreciate a lot the simplicity of older vehicles, no sensors, no emissions, no computer, no injectors, much simpler, older vehicles were a little less efficient but that is compensated for the simplicity, complexity and plastic parts are a bad combination.

As long as you don't have bad head gaskets, burnt cylinder 7 or 8 exhaust valves or smoke from opening oil fill cap when running and you have flow through oil cooler it's a good buy. Everything else is non-catastrophic and should be fine

from what i have heard it was designed in europe for navistar and was designed for a school bus.but since navistar had a contract with ford for their diesel engine they shipped ford those engines and as you said before with poor results. they weren't made for the truck unlike cummins and dodge trucks.

@cipherion6 жыл бұрын
Sicktrickintuner The intake manifold intake ports get coked up restricting flow causing extreme heat. Thereby breaking down the coolant. This goo clogs the oil coolers and continues on to the egr cooler and cause the egr cooler to not cool properly. Next the egr cooler blows. If you have a blown egr cooler you should change out your oil cooler with an upgraded one as well as adding a coolant filter.
