2000 Quest. no trouble code. sensor has infinite resistance even when heated. hopefully this will solve my NOx failure with my emission test. all other items in EGR system appear good. Great video-thanks!

I can chime in that I had 1400 and it was the temp sensor which get covered in velvety deposits. I unscrewed it and wiped it off and its fine. The code went out and the van never ran better. However a month later I developed a new problem code 1401--EGR signal too high--which I would release the key and the engine would drop to about 200 then ran fine in a couple seconds. That turned out to be the BOOST SENSOR. I replaced it with a junkyard one and instant fix and is perfect. Moral of the story is just like I had researched that the odds are SLIM--its the egr valve--its the various sensors that control it. The fact I had the 2 egr problems relates to the fact that the sensors do reach their life expectancy.

the little Wi-Fi symbol is NOT for Ohms/Continuity. The little Wi-Fi symbol is for an Audible indication for continuity. The symbol for Continuity is the little Omega symbol next to the Wi-Fi symbol. If you are looking for a specific amount of Resistance the sound mean nothing.

Hi! I just replace the whole EGR valve now it's saying my EGR temperature sensor circuit high p0406 what does that mean I have to replace the temperature sensor as well

Check all connections and hoses. Maybe something is loose or not connected.

Which scale on the ohms selector did you use? 20000K, 2000K, 200K, 20K. I can only get a read out on the 20000K scale, the others read 1. How low does the resistance have to go when it heats up? Mine starts at 2000 when cold and slowly moves to the hundreds (300) or less when it heats up. Not sure it should be that low. Suggestions? Thank you. Thumbs up.

I have a 1999 nissan pathfinder . Yesturday I have check engine light came on and when I came home I checked the code which is PO1401 . Google says its the error code fore EGR valeve Solenoid , something like that. So what should I do. I know once I get to egr temperature sensor I can check the solenoid but do you think I should just replace both egr valve solenoid and temperature sensor. . Thanks in advance.

I'd start by checking the EGR valve. I show a number of options on how to test the egr valve here (it's pretty quick)- kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIbdaIJvgJZ-Zrc If the egr valve is good, I'd check the egr temp sensor next. Send us an email to carsntoyshelp@gmail.com if you need additional help. Good luck!

Shouldn't this test work if you leave it installed in the vehicle? The warmer the car gets the less voltage you'd see???

Not a voltage. Resistance

Can that make my temperature gauge don't work correctly?
@CarsNToys7 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid not. This has nothing to due with the temp gauge in the gauge cluster.
