Interesting design. I love the idea of combined workstations. The model submersion seems like the Achilles' heel of many washing stations. (I'm actually working on a solution to overcome this.) The draining system should have some safety feature to prevent liquid overflow. Might be even just a combined cap that fits bottles and cans either with an overflow return pipe to the washing chamber. Same would work for the inlet pump, that way if your bottle falls over nothing happens.

@@FauxHammer I saw it. Have something similar in mind but want to retrofit to the Wash & Cure 2 station, and position the spray heads that way it cleans semi-open hollow models somewhat better. Spraying only from the sides doesn't seem efficient enough.

This is very practical advice. We do not equip a dedicated detergent container, but prefer users to use the original detergent container or reuse large-capacity water bottles. Therefore, it is difficult to install a combination cap that is compatible with the bottle mouths of various manufacturers. We are looking for other ways to resolve this issue.

Would have been nice to mention size. Like compared to build volumes maybe? Could a large Saturn 3 print fit in here? I have their filament box actually that I use for my FDM printers. I have been looking for a good all in one station like this because I think it is a great idea. Prusa has one as well though I don't know if you can use it without their printer. Properly drying the print is a crucial step that so many people miss or do badly, so I think a GOOD all in one station that can do all these 3 steps to perfection would make the process of making high quality prints just that much more obtainable by everyone.

Nice concept but way too small for my Elegoo Jupiter prints. Someone needs to come out with a large wash and cure station for the larger printers on the market.

Good idea, thy could have implemented it a lot better by adding tanks for the liquds, for safe storage as well (highly flammable and toxic) and also by curing under warm water you glycol you increase strength of resin prints by 40%.

I love the innovation. Like you mentioned, I would be nervous about the draining. Also, wouldn't resin residue get on the side panels? I can only think that after a few months of "good use", there is going to be a layer of resin on the sides blocking the light.

It's called using an alcohol wipe and spending 30 seconds to clean the side walls after every couple of dozen wash cycles. Every machine needs some form of maintenance and cleaning to keep it in tip top shape.

As long as you're changing the frequently enough the new IPA should rinse the sides when filling is what I'd imagine. Good use should require IPA changes

Looking at their website videos it doesn't appear to have ANY UV light shining up from the bottom. Is this the case? Seems like a huge flaw.
@shardperson3777
@shardperson3777 10 ай бұрын
3 Large issues: - resin will absolutely slowly build up on the sides covering the UV lights - it has nothing to cure the inside of hollow models so you still have to go in with a tiny UV LED and do it yourself - drain system will be clogged within a few dozen prints
@FauxHammer
@FauxHammer 10 ай бұрын
Can't say I disagree with any of that.
@agentcee688
@agentcee688 10 ай бұрын
I mean most machines need maintenance (or preventative maintenance) and cleaning. Wiping the inner walls once in a while to clean off resin residue isn't a real problem. Also running the wash routine and flushing the hoses/pumps with water after a couple dozen prints will keep everything clog free. Very few things are self cleaning and self maintaining.
@eibos3d983
@eibos3d983 10 ай бұрын
-We recommend preparing a cleaning tank for long-term use. Before putting it into the cleaning machine, put the printed model into the cleaning tank and soak it briefly. This can remove most of the resin, and then put it into the equipment for automatic cleaning. In this way, not only the resources can be saved but also can efficiently reduce the resin deposits on the sides of the unit. Of course, regular maintenance is also necessary. -For models with hollow interiors, special tools are indeed required to cure the interior. This also has similar problems for other curing methods. But this is something we need to think about and discuss further. - There are filters at the bottom of the sink and at the outlet of the drain pipe, which can be disassembled and cleaned. The pump body can accommodate a certain level of impurities. Most equipment requires a certain level of maintenance, just like changing the oil in a car. This will give the device a longer useage life. We really appreciate of your idea and we will consider more about all you have mentioned in our team and see if we are able to make improvments in our product. that will make our product more convenience to the users. Thank you for all these and much appreciated!

from the images I saw on the EIBOS shop it should be easy to 3d print a finer grate and insert it, given that you have a printer with big enough print area (I don't so that kinda sucks). After having started with 3d printing and hating the cleanup stage, this is quite the product I might buy once I have a way to create a finer grate, might see if just jerryrigging something could work.

Anycubic also shown a AiO, but the issues are... drying/curing hollow models, and cleaning the inside of of it. AC one also has spraying, so if those get clogged from the resin sediments, how do you clean those?

Great review, but I like Fauxhammer videos also for insight into real-life usage experience and this video lacks that. The big question for me - does it clean and then dry good enough (excl. hollowed models) so that curing doesn't harden resin leftovers or resin-contaminated drops of IPA on the model?
@FauxHammer
@FauxHammer 10 ай бұрын
I didn't notice any issues on the few minis I did, but you could have a point on larger models. I feel the bigger issue is that it does not clean or cure hollowed models, so it's a no from me.

Can we just get one that filters out the resin from the ipa? Doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult.
@peterkiss1204
@peterkiss1204 10 ай бұрын
If it wouldn't be that difficult the market would be flooded with such devices already. There are two main ways of doing this without additional chemicals: 1. Curing the resin in the alcohol, then filtering out with particle filters. But those get clogged over (a relatively short) time, and the process creates a sludge of fine plastic particles one may call microplastics. 2. Distillation. Heating based distillation is deemed as serious fire hazard if not done properly and the resin still needs to be cleaned up by hand from the distiller. Cheap distillers often burns the resin releasing toxic fumes. Vacuum distillation is expensive.
@jkdubb
@jkdubb 10 ай бұрын
@@peterkiss1204 I was thinking incorporating a reservoir in the drain/fill process that lets the resin settle to the bottom and then be able to drain that separately. It can absolutely be done it’s just a matter of pricing and profit. A lot of people are fine with shaking prints in a pickle jar and putting them in the sun so it just depends on the market.
@peterkiss1204
@peterkiss1204 10 ай бұрын
@@jkdubb Letting the washing fluid to settle down naturally takes so much time, at this point I think it's easier to let the resin settle in the bottle and just don't let the tube reach the bottom at the filling stage. However a centrifuge powerful enough may separate the resin particles "on the fly" while it would be possible to drain relatively clean solvent from the center. Although some ingredients may not settle but keep being suspended indefinitely. I saw some DIY solvent recycling ideas but they are slow and inefficient.
@jkdubb
@jkdubb 10 ай бұрын
@@peterkiss1204 Agree settling takes a while. Could use the same method septic tanks use with a solids tank and top filter/overflow to a liquid/clean tank for refilling. It wouldn’t catch everything but over time it would separate a lot. Would be fun to try and build something. I have a bunch of dirty resin ipa. Maybe I’ll give it a shot. Even a separate machine that auto cleans ipa would be nice.

This actually represents a huge step forward towards the resin print process becoming more user friendly. There's still a long way to go, particular in the printers themselves, with all the calibration, filling and slicing etc. but at least this takes the majority of the post processing tasks and just does it. For me, one issue is that I like to wash the model, remove the supports in warm water, then cure. So I would want it to pause after drying so I can remove supports before returning the parts for curing. Maybe there is a resin and support settings out there that would convince me to give up this way of doing things so I could leave the machine to it.
