Royal Enfield produce some fantastic bikes that are really good value for money, I'm always impressed by the colour options available (the European & Japanese manufacturers should take note) the new 650 Bear looks good the only design feature I am not keen on is the low slung exhaust, a Scrambler inspired bike really should have a high level exhaust.
@PeakMotorcycles19 күн бұрын
They do, and definitely value for money. They do seem to be better at modern classics than new, new, but that's just fine. I do like the colours on the retro Kawasaki Z's too, especially the 900RS.
@Yuvraj94818 күн бұрын
Well, you can always opt for aftermarket exhausts and Royal Enfield motorcycles are very flexible in that regard
@enduromotorradtouren18 күн бұрын
How many bikes does RE produce each year? More than KTM, BMW and Triumph combined. Great that they invest it in bikes that also appeal to European tastes. Keeping my fingers crossed for them, Günter/Nürnberg

Your video quality is so much better . I am from India and all the automobile journalists that have went to the show are probably not even using good camera ,I would be surprised if they were even using a new generation smartphone camera ,they are probably shooting videos on a 2013 phone . Thank you for the excellent coverage sir . The flying flea in your video looks so much better while on other channels it looks so worse . I even doubted how could Royal Enfield allow such a crude design but I was so wrong . Thanks a lot for better quality videos . Keep making them .

Not sure my gear is that fancy. I use a Sony ZV-1 II with a Rode Go2 wireless mic. I think getting the sound right is almost more important than the video (Though both are needed). Some parts of EICMA are very noisy with music thumping away. That said, some stands are quite dark too (Honda...) which makes filming difficult. I do what I can.
@PeakMotorcycles15 күн бұрын
Unfortunately not. Just the ZV-1 II (In prior years I was using the ZV-1, but the lens wasn't quite wide enough with the image stabilisation on.

Royal Enfield = Strike while the iron is hot. What a great selection of machines, can't wait until HD starts whining about unfair conditions.
@PeakMotorcycles19 күн бұрын
🤣 It is unfair of RE to make economical motorcycles that work and don't need as much polish as a HD and cost a lot less!
@geneclarke220516 күн бұрын
Don't worry, the Trump tariffs are coming but HD's sales will continue to decline as inflation and interest rates will remain sticky. The only issue with my US RE dealer, they won't see some of these new bikes until next Fall and they seem to get the leftovers. I guess the Brits get the first choice. American needs to revolt against England. Oh, wait, we did!!!

@PeakMotorcycles18 күн бұрын
I don't think that will ever exist. I think the 650 twin and gearbox is just too heavy. The Bear may be as close as they get. I do think there will be a bigger displacement engine coming, but it'll be a different type of engine. Let's see.

@PeakMotorcycles actually there was testing done in ladakh India ,there are many pics too but I guess they'll release it 2026,
@peakrider488619 күн бұрын
So no updates to the Himalayan then? RE really needed to address 2 issues with the bike, firstly the sidestand which is too short and they’ve admitted so themselves, and secondly, the front mudguard needed raising as it doesn’t give enough clearance when fitting knobbly tyres, and it soon chokes up with mud, as was demonstrated at their launch event in Utah. In addition, as it’s a fly-by-wire throttle, there was an opportunity to add more rider modes and cruise control.
@PeakMotorcycles19 күн бұрын
Not yet, but I suppose it's been just a year and they've been focussing on the new models. Do you have one, and if so, what do you think of the 450MT? They were launched at the same time and folks seemed to have gone one way or the other. I went for the MT, but did see them as similar. I'm sure the MT will have it's initial problems too.
@peakrider488619 күн бұрын
@ I don’t but it’s a sector of the market I am looking to purchase something next year.. possibly. I have a home-built modified KLE 500 which all these bikes would be competing against. Still looking for the unicorn and maybe the MT, or one of the other 450’s from Keeway, Mondial, or Moto Morini might be the one that beats it. Also keen to see the new Kawasaki KLE which they have disguised at the show and not revealed yet.

If those Flying Fleas are priced well i suspect they're going to snag a lot of new riders, and city commuters. The young new riders don't have the petrol nostalgia and built in suspicions of EV's us old folks do, and in my experience in places like high congestion places like London, Paris, Brussels a small bike is far nicer to get to work on than a big lump.

3 engines 12 bikes or 2 engines 10 bikes or 1 engine 6 bikes. RE should focus on developing new engines now or stop launching the same engine in a new body.
@PeakMotorcycles15 күн бұрын
Engines are expensive to develop. They only way they can make this work at the price is by using them in multiple models.

Are R.E. going to offer their digital speedometer on the shotgun?
@PeakMotorcycles19 күн бұрын
I'm sorry but I don't know. It depends how they classify it... the new 650 classics have the analogue dials, the new 650 Bear has the digital, so it definitely works with the 650 platform. My guess is only if there's a facelift for the Shotgun. Not sure about retrofit as it normally requires a lot of rewiring sensors which isn't cost effective.

The Flying Flea can carry two, but the passenger pegs are on the swingarm which must feel odd at the very least.
