Lots of comments on how smooth his picking is, which is true! But I can't get over how musical his licks are even when he's just messing around. I love how smoothly he transitions for shred licks to bluesy lick. Just like randy!

Yesidoplaytheguitar You're probably joking but for anyone who plays guitar solely for competition vs. other guitarists and would want to quit after hearing/seeing someone play faster: imo, you're playing for all the wrong reasons! I cannot play that fast myself but I don't care. I play for the enjoyment of exploring new sounds / riff combinations and soloing to songs on the radio/internet. Play for your own self, not for anyone else. It should be a pleasure to play guitar, not a pride-filled, miserable competition and comparison of fear and/or embarrassment. :)

apinakapinastorba I strongly believe that it's all on the individual's will. Awesome speed and precision. I always wonder if a person like this practiced his ass off for years or it just comes natural to them? It just seems like some people are just meant to do something, like they just seem to get it unlike me that struggle to play notes and chord changes cleanly and with speed. Guess I just don't put the hours in!

***** Thanks, I play Rocksmith every so often too so I can actually play a few songs all the way through but I can never really 'create' my own riff... Unless going up and down a single scale counts ;)

So the title of the video is Eight Minutes Of Insane Shred & there are comments about not playing in the pocket or not playing with feeling...what a crock of crap. You can't judge a players overall ability by eight minutes of video. The guy is trying out a guitar for cripes sake, he's not playing at Woodstock...lighten up people.
