In many Muslim countries and among Muslim populations food wastage is very frowned upon and abhorred, on religious grounds because Muslims were commanded not to in the Quran and instructed not to by the prophet Muhammad, and based on cultural/historical/practical grounds as many Muslim countries, especially those in the Middle East and North Africa in the past and in some instances still were places low in natural resources like water, arable land etc so food wastage was taboo

Food fights aren't a thing. I don't know where Hollywood came up with them. I've heard of exactly 1. It was in my middle school, and all the kids said it was AWFUL, and everyone else was grateful not to be there. The punishments were severe and expensive, not at all like a movie. It's certainly a better alternative to a school shooting... Wasting food is just as frowned upon here as it is anywhere else.

@@gsp4prez No... Qanon would call him a terrorist/socialist/antifa/etc scumbag and send death threats just for suggesting there's something wrong with the US And it's not a company, but rather, the whole country is run by companies that bribe legally trough lobying Everything in the US is made for the convenience of companies, not the people. A reminder that the reason the president and politicians are called public servants is because they are meant to SERVE the public, not private corporations like when they gave corporations billions of dollars that they did NOT need and ended up doing the opposite of trickle down economics by draining money from people trough taxes and giving them to corporations that dodge 95% of their taxes

As a russian i totally relate to the buffalo chicken 🐔 story. I was disgusted and frankly heartbroken at one of the restaurants during my first time in the states, when i saw they served “dolphin fish” haha thinking it was real dolphin 🐬 until someone told me it is mahi mahi fish 🐟 And the way Trevor pronounces the word Folzvagen, i also have such hard time pronouncing it in english accent. And his mom getting mad about the food, i totally relate to her. Second/Third culture kids are the best! There is always a fun story on how different people are, yet we are all the same :) Thanks for sharing your stories Trevor!

😄 Once, when I was in the Navy, I saw the base fire department around the entrance of one particular building, but also near the trunk of one particular tree. I joked, "Is there a cat up that tree?" One of them looked at me, kind of annoyed, and said, "Have you ever seen a cat _skeleton_ in a tree?" I took his meaning. A cat stuck in a tree is not _really_ stuck. It's not _really_ an emergency. It'll get itself down. Just give it time.

It would make more sense to ask if you've ever seen a cat skeleton under a tree, because any body without muscles or skin to hold it together will fall apart and then down.

I was traveling from Michigan to Boulder. I had a 40 minute stop in Denver . I had been on the bus 2 days, and my afro was matted. Someone told me that there was a deli 3 blocks away, and I were and got a sandwich. On my way back to the bus station, Suddenly, 9 police cars surrounded me, put me on the sidewalk, then arrested me for Jaywalking, when I hadn’t crossed the street, because the deli was on the same side as the bus station. Since I was not from Denver, I was called transient, and had to go before a judge. Friday of a holiday weekend meant I had to see the judge on Tuesday. Other prisoners explained that they were rounding up homeless people on the planned Presidential Motorcade route. They routinely arrest people who they believe are homeless, as though they have no rights! 4 days stolen from my life changed me forever!

I'm so sorry that happened to you! Sadly, the levels of racism, bigotry, and just outright hate in this country have really gotten bad in the last few years. They've started crawling out of the woodwork, and now think it's perfectly acceptable to be that way. That doesn't excuse them, by any means, though, even if they had a POTUS for 4 years that made it seem acceptable. 😔 Cops are finally getting some punishment (in some cases) for being that way, when people have died by their hands. But if there's no deaths, they think they can do whatever they want to do, and not face any consequences at all. It's so bad, and those protesting it are often painted as being radicals, when all we want is for cops to stop treating people - especially POC - like lesser, like subhuman, like easy targets for their hatred. Again, I am very sorry you had to live through that. Such treatment should horrify and embarrass us all, as human beings. After all, we are all one species.

They are trying to go back to the old days when the daughters of the Confederacy controlled children’s textbooks. To make sure they were sympathetic to the South, of course. In ten years, we’ll have kids showing up at universities thinking that slaves liked being slaves and Martin Luther King magically ended all racism.
