Can't fault the commitment of the Scotland players, but they were completely outclassed. The more I see of Ellie Kildunne, the more impressed I am. She was always a good player, but now I would suggests that she's one of the 'great' players. She shows fantastic positional sense, great speed and incredible strength, both in attack and defence. Can't wait for next weekend when I'm at Twickenham with the granddaughters for the Ireland test.

I agree! Scotland do have potential in Women’s rugby they just need to be more consistent on the attack 🤷‍♂️ their ruck is actually fairly decent as well but Kildunne and some of the other backs were just too good in some of the tries

Really nice to see England trying to use their backs a bit more now. Jess Breach has been on a perpetual graveyard shift for England for years, so great to see her with the ball and space to run again.

Hannah Botterman had a terrific game, but then she always does. You normally have to choose between power and mobility in a prop, but she gives you both, plus great hands.

From Daily Telegraph, sums it up....."The brutal reality is that the Red Roses, who set about ripping up what green shoots Bryan Easson’s side have carefully laid down during this campaign to shreds, could have played the entirety of this match with 14 women on the pitch and still reached a half-century of points. Such was their slick offloading and sheer physical dominance that Cokayne’s absence was barely felt"

Being honest, some of the very loose play at times in the game could have gone very badly against better opposition. I’m aware that the weather was very bad, so should the game have been played closer at those stages? It is obvious that we loose too many points from missed conversions. I just say this as a reality check. The ladies will be against some comparable opponents next year. The great thing about this game is that players with such different talents that they to bring to each match. We are very fortunate to have such as members of the powerful front row, like Hannah Botteman, through to the back line 3/4’s, who all seem to score so regularly. Lineout possession seems to be incredible. The 2nd Row and 67&8 are all over the place, punching holes through defences, and throwing out good passes. It’s a joy to watch. Thank you ladies. 😁

Brilliant performance from the Roses, very telling when they are still powering past the opposition with a self imposed penalty in the form of sin binned or red carded players. Not only this game but in every game.

Great effort England, BUT ! The discipline will cost us against better organized teams. - In addition, we need at least two/three competent goal kickers, I believe a Mr. j Wilkinson may be able to help in that regard.. Imagine if that had been against New Zealand, no offense Scotland, but what would have happened then. ? Likely we would have lost... Something to think about.

@SandSMat 17 күн бұрын
With regard to the kicking, Holly Aitcheson, has, until this tournament been very reliable so I don't know what (apart from yesterday's wind) has gone awry. Emma Sing is the best English place kicker in the PWP and very good in both defence and attack but at the moment isn't going to replace Ellie Kildunne. I'd give Emma a run out though.
@whattiler5102
@whattiler5102 14 күн бұрын
Holly was immaculate kicking off the tee in the Women's XV1 but though she is accurate she doesn't have the range for wide kicks or bad conditions. Emily Scarrett is still a very fine kicker (and great 13) when fully match-fit. And of course there is Zoe Harrison, who is normally a classy kicker.
@stevemathews9535
@stevemathews9535 14 күн бұрын
@@whattiler5102 Yes agreed. Holly is, for me, the in form No 10 so I wouldn't replace her with Zoe. Emma Scarrett is not in form and I'm wondering if she will play for Red Roses again and who would you leave out to play her? Tatiana Heard is on fire, Meg Jones is playing (as usual) well and I could not leave out Helena Rowland when she is recovered. Sydney Gregson is playing so well for Sarries that I would give her a run out.

Another outstanding performance by the Red Roses in terrible conditions with Maud Muir, Sadia Kabeya and Tatiana Heard catching the eye. Jess Breach had a good game and showed us a side of her game that I haven't seen often. Although I have been a great fan of Mo Hunt over the years I think that she makes too many sniping runs that come to nothing and as she is coming to the end of her career John Mitchell needs to give Ella Wyrwas more game time. Although the wind was strong I am not confident in England's place kicking during this tournament which is a surprise as Holly Aitcheson couldn't miss in the WXV in NZ. Discipline needs tightening up or the French will prosper.
@whattiler5102
@whattiler5102 14 күн бұрын
Holly was excellent in XVq but, though generally accurate, she doesn't have the range/power for bad conditions. Zoe Harrison is better but does she distribute as well as Holly? Scazz is better than either when right on top of her game, but she's not quite there yet, possibly.
@stevemathews9535
@stevemathews9535 8 күн бұрын
@@whattiler5102 I believe that Holly brings more to the game than Zoe so couldn't pick Zoe on her kicking ability alone. Similarly Emma Sing is the most consistent English place kicker but it would be a brave man to replace Ellie Kildunne with Emma. At the risk of being too controversial, I would try Ellie on the wing and play Emma at 15.

If she hadn't ducked, Amy would have got a red card for that contact anyway. As the law stands the responsibility lies with the tackler, as it must.

As an England supporter yes we have outclassed them etc. but I have to say the Scottish defence really had a number on them! As funny as it sounds they did pretty dam well to keep it to 46-0 as they were pulverised throughout the whole match constantly lol

Well then, here's the thing. The vast majority of players and real supporters of the game don't give a monkey's about the sexuality of their team mates. Strange, isn't it? I would be very interested to know why you couldn't resist using the qualifier 'lesbian' in your congratulatory comment. And, just to remind you, here are the stated values of the sport: teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. Look up 'respect' and see what it means. It might be of help.
