Callas loved her! She had no ego. She just loved to sing. She was a beautiful totally undiva like person as well as having the most exquisite soprano voice ever. She always put her family first.

The most undiva-like diva who ever lived, and she could sing rings around anybody at the Met when it had the greatest of talent available to it! Married to a New York City cop.

I really liked that! The greatest singers all seemed to have that big (but pleasant) face! Eileen Farrell, Joan Sutherland, and Birgit Nilsson - all were EXCELLENT! This was really a very cute video!

🎹 Alan, where do you ever find these fabulous vintage clips of truly great talents like Eileen Farrell? She could sing everything from Hank Williams to Isolde. We are all very grateful to you. 🎹

Wonderful! I have never seen this now. I love how she had both a fantastic career at the Met, and also had an equally successful ‘pop’ career at the same time. And was that Jimmy Dean?

yes, Jimmy Dean. She is such a fantastic jazz singer too
