Kolbeinn Tumason var skáld gott og fyrir Víðinesbardagann orti hann sálminn Heyr, himna smiður, sem enn er í íslensku sálmabókinni og er elsti sálmur sem til er á íslensku og raunar elsti sálmur Norðurlanda. Kolbeinn fékk stein í ennið sem varð bani hans.
Hér syngur færeyska sönggyðjan, Eivör Pálsdóttir, sálm Kolbeins við lag Þorkels Sigurbjörnssonar á Jólagestum Björgvins 2015.

She’s singing in Icelandic here. In addition to that and the much more common Faroese and English, she also sings live in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. She’s a genius,

Saying this as a Faroese person; it's not that unusual for us to know all those languages and often times German too. Swedish, Norwegian and Danish are similar enough that if you know one language then you can pretty much figure out the others as well and Icelandic is quite similar to Faroese but probably easier for us to read than speak because the pronunciation is completely different. And on a sidenote; singing in languages you don't understand isn't that hard since it's all memorized words. But yeah, musically she's a genius :)

One of the most humble persons I know in the music industry. My best time listening to her is when she is just barefoot a capella singing without thinking. The most amazing natural singer I know. The voice comes through her out of the ground. Not possible other than to love her. I am a lucky Icelander.

Eivør, is a Faroese singer-songwriter with a distinctive voice and a wide range of interests in various music genres spanning rock, jazz, folk, pop, and European classical music. Her musical roots are in the Faroese ballads. She is my top artist I had the chance to see her and the band at a gig in Bristol here in England She is magic. You must do Falling Free live it is excellent, I'v been a fan of this young lady for years.And Konni Kass sang and played with them at the same gig another class lady. Eivor is the co writer and singer for the music of The Last Kingdom she is full of talent. Cheers all the best from England and keep safe both and have agreat Christmas ( Wassail ).

This song was written in 1208 in Iceland by Kolbeinn Tumason before Víðisstaðabardaga (vidisstadabattle) where he died in combat (allegedly) Hear, smith of heavens. The poet seeketh.
