EJ got a great deal on a Weber Summit Charcoal grill, so he put it through its paces by cooking two of every animal. Just like Noah, but eating all the animals instead of saving them. (RE-UPLOADED because of sound issues)

It's just a sleeper. He'll have that breakthrough episode that makes people go watch all the others. The fact EJ keeps the quality up in the face of low view count will most definitely pay off.

Fantastic review. I'm looking in to getting one of these, feels like it might be a better option than a ceramic grill, and your review went in to a fair bit of detail. The best thing about the review, and why it was an instant subscribe for me, is the generous sprinkling of sarcasm and tongue-in-cheek humour.

May I ask you a question? I have my Summit delivered last week. I used it for the first time this weekend. After the first use, I cleaned up the ashes with one touch. Then I noticed that metal wings from the one touch system did actually scratch the enamel. Have you spotted if the one touch system scratches the bowl in your Summit?

Great video, I found out that 17 minutes is the perfect cooking time for salmon. I like this grill, but it is way overpriced. Here in Europe it cost 1500 euro for the basic model, without the ignition and 2500 euro for the cart version. So weber is basicity charging 1000 euro for a small cart! I'm staying with my weber performer for now.

The first time I ever heard of a Kamado was when my wife was given a Vision Cadet. I'm addicted to kamados and may eventually go to a larger size because I want to cook more when we have company. Where do you think the vision would stand if you were to place it among these three. The reason I decided against the summit is that I've always wished I could cook with a tandoor and the kamado seems to come very close.

Also the leg inserts were left there for keeping to the kettle grill history. You can get this answer from Weber KZbin. Other Komato styles are not better. This thing can do it all. Also the charcoal summit heat longevity is amazing. 250 degrees with a full slow cook is an average 16 hrs +. Thought I could help out with your info message about this super grill.

Watch out for those dollar-store paint brushes. You're apt to get boar's ass hair bristles on your ribs. Oh, and get some throw-away aluminum pans to catch your drippings. Overall good job. I'd love to have a wsc, but I already have a wsm and performer (their 22" in table).

I just got one of these and have been having a real hard time getting low & slow temps on it. Even with the vents barely open, I still go up to 325F and it doesn't drop like your temp did. I close the vents early and light very few coals to start. It's been very disappointing and I hope to figure it out soon.
@RedCowEntertainment
@RedCowEntertainment 6 жыл бұрын
goldenretrogames I've been mostly using the snapjet thing. Just light it for 5 minutes then put the heat deflector in and close the bottom vent a hair under the smoke symbol. Close the top vent around 1/4 or so and usually I hit the lower side of things. It likes to hit 250 for me but I'm cool with that most of the time.
@goldenretrogames
@goldenretrogames 6 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I did for a test this afternoon, but my top vent was less than 1/4 open. It climbed to 350F and settled at 325F after about 90min. Part of me is wondering if I have an air leak somewhere. The only place I saw smoke exit the grill was from the top vent and from where my grate probe fed through. I doubt the leak from the probe would cause problems. Before it settles at 250F for you, does it still overshoot first and then come back down? It's frustrating, because I can hit 250F without any effort on my kettle. I'll keep at it and I'm sure I'll figure out what's going on at some point.
@RedCowEntertainment
@RedCowEntertainment 6 жыл бұрын
goldenretrogames it only overshot the first time I used it documented in the video and then I got it to come down rather quickly with the vents barely open. Since then I've hit 250 and under consistently. Very strange! I'd keep at it!
@goldenretrogames
@goldenretrogames 6 жыл бұрын
Some people have suggested that the temps might get better once it's seasoned. It's possible yours was better seasoned on subsequent cooks. I had mine running most of the day today, so we'll see what happens the next time I try it.
