I’m definitely taking this as Endless Sphene literally physically ultimately cannot rebel against her coding, the only flexibility is how. But since she is also patterned after the Queen Sphene’s own thought patterns so she feels intense guilt from being forced to be a genocide machine. Even so her Prime Directive is so strong she can NOT lean into her Queen Sphene personality and reject her directive. Also I definitely believe the Endless are people. We’ve established that human beings need physical bodies, souls, and memory. Missing one makes you incomplete, and the Endless are missing their physical bodies, so their soul portion keeps dissipating and needs upkeep. Which is yknow, how the Scions were in the First. We accept them as alive, ergo the Endless are too. Anyway Living Memory hits hard particularly for people who recently lost significant others like I did. I still recoil from hearing the post-MSQ theme and it took me days to get over it; not even Endwalker affected me this much. See you in other videos!

I LOVE the theme song for Alexandria. Always brings up so many memories of past FF games. Also, the key has the Azem symbol for... reasons. There's actually a side story that talks about a crystal Azem created for travel... and there is a crystal inside the key. Dawntrail's biggest issue for me is that it lacks the character work that Ishikawa brought to the series. It has great themes and touches on some really cool stuff about family, expectations, life and death, etc. But it's extremely plot driven at the cost of real character development. And while I liked Wuk overall as a character, she overshadowed all the other plot lines of the other characters and had so much screen time for so little development. As for Sphene, I liked her character because I saw her as a good person, fighting against her AI programming and losing. Sadly, the game doesn't portray it well. It also lacks the grounded feel of past expansions, with many things swept under the rug or resolved too easily. TOO Shounen, one might say. Where as things like the Ascians and Garlemald were handled in a much more realistic way. Sometimes things don't always work out, but the game kept acting like Wuk couldn't fail.

Yeah I did feel like this storyline was almost too simplistic compared to more nuanced topics from prior expansions. In this one however, we are told how to feel and what to think and the story keeps rolling along without really giving us time to consider other options (still surprised at how little the Scions actually did, when normally they are outstanding problem solvers).

How are you able to do the character voice for your WOL?

I casted someone to do my WoL's voice lines for these videos since I wanted Gaddes to feel more like he's part of these cutscenes
