Wow very nice Ekko video. Super informative. There’s only one thing I’ve heard about any kind of turbo vehicle, is to let it cool down after you’ve been driving it real hard. It’s really hard on the turbos to just shut it off, when it’s scorching hot, let it sit and idle for a minute or two before you shut it down. The heat is extremely hard on the bearings in the turbos. Great point! It’s such a divided view on this I respect to the newer Turbos. In theory (vehicle not like a semi) the water cooled turbos are suppose to eliminate the need to go through a cool down cycle we are typically accustomed to. Arguable though if you were running hard pulling a trailer this could differentiate the temperature factor by some (degrees). In the old days I’d cycle down, but any more with the synthetic oil and water oiled turbos I have to admit I’m not that concerned. Thanks again for watching and subscribing to our channel. Thank you this is so helpful! I am a single first-time RV owner so I really appreciate you making this video. Mine didn't come with the tailgate package and I really wanted it. I did purchase the NORCOLD Electric Icechest and the quick connect water spout. I would love to find a slide-out for the cooler that someone could install for me.

If I can locate it I’ll send you the link. Part two should be out this morning. We also plan on doing a full tutorial in the near future, but again this was just to help people get up and start going on their RV part two I think we have to be a little more helpful.

Can you please tell me where I can go to order the tailgate package. I ordered Ekko with pop top and they won't allow me to add the tailgate package.

Hello, Thanks for watching our channel and subscribing. Yes, you are correct that the EKKO pop top is a version that Winnebago has deemed "no tailgate package" compatible. I believe it has to do with the following: My opinion only. Given the fact that the pop top removes some of the roofing structural bracing, there may be too much flex in the side wall to support the weight of the tailgate package. The package itself is not too heavy, but when people load it up with food/beverages, etc. this could be the deal breaker. The interesting thing that I find is the fact that the compartment is still noted as useful for storage. I have seen people put coolers, bbq's, cat litter, supplies, etc. in the compartment of pop tops and yet my guess is the weight must be similar or heavier at time vs. the tailgate package. It is possible that it has to do with total GVW. Just curious, do you know what your typical loaded weight is when you travel. I have seen on some FB groups, people selling their tailgate packages, but that is something you would want to explore and weight out the risk and do your own due diligence on as I can not advise. I hope this helps.

One echo dealer that was reviewing the echo said both tanks should be open when you open one you should open the other I’m not sure about the logic there

So do you know for sure that the outdoor kitchen can be added? I’ve read no and yes. Have you confirmed that with a dealer? Thanks!

Hello, I apologize for the delayed response. I thought I had gotten back to you. In respect to the outdoor kitchen, the dealer can order the components directly from Winnebago. They only vehicles that would be limited are the pop tops. Winnebago claims that it effects a weight regulation, but I can't really speak to that. I've also seen on the FB Ekko groups, a number of people selling their outdoor packages. You can check Winnebago EKKO Free Speech FB group.

Good point and thank you. Winnebago equipped the EKKO with a Cummins Onan QG 2800i ultra low quiet ultra-fuel efficient generator that supplies fuel off of the top three quarters of the fuel tank.

Not your fault but navigating content in KZbin is terrible. Have you done #2 or even #3 of this series, if so what are the titles, i am off to Forest City on Monday night for pickup and this content is exactly what i need. Would also like to know if you have recommendations on independent shops for mods or service in the PNW. I am in Leavenworth WA
