Walter was gonna break bad regardless. He was seething with repressed bitterness ever since ending his relationship with Gretchen and bailing out of Gray Matter. Probably he was seething even further back than that---- there's hints that he resented being poor as a kid and resenting his own father for being poor. He's a man with a huge ego and a huge inferiority complex. Cancer was the spark that lit the fuse, but Walter was always a bomb ready to go off.

Think about it, ABQ and DEA were humiliated in the Fring case, then it’s revealed that the head agents brother in law was the kingpin (also his empire was the size of El Chopo’s in our universe for perspective). Walt gets as far an New Hampshire, tells the cops where he is, manages to get back to ABQ and guns down his old crew and dies before he can be detained while his partners slip away (Saul relocated and cops assume mike is at large). the law enforcement community in NM has been made a joke and they’re gunning for anyone involved. Even the remote chance Jesse was with the car was enough to warrant a posse. Average response time is 14 minutes. It took them about 5 to have city, county, state, and feds roll out with an armored truck to boot. When they finally figure out after trailing his parents that Jesse is gone for good I imagine the absolute frustration of the whole thing was enough to even have the DEA reformed.

Very Accurate for the order of the motorcade. Heavy armoured transport containing swat team in front ( first to breach) backed up by 4-5 squad cars to secure immediate perimeter. after 3-4 black SUV's, most likely containing FBI / DEA agents from the Albuquerque bureau, right after 3-4 unmarked cars (maybe regional detectives) and finished off with State troopers in the back (Black & white). All escorted by APD. I love these type of scenes

I always thought it would be cool if an independent studio released a couple webisodes from the point of view of media outlets and law enforcement several years after the events, just piecing everything together and the massive sprawl of Walter White. Like if the cops discovered the DVD of Jesse's confession at Jack's compound and conducted interviews with former friends and past associates of Walt, Jesse and Saul. Could be a cool "True Crime" documentary piece.

Man this was terrifying to even just watch, the sound design, the way cars keep passing so close to his head with enough speed to make the wait feel endless, the quiet only ocassionaly broken by the sound of tuned down police sirens. All of it *breathes* intimidation, filling you with such a powerfull sense of dread you can't help but think "this one's gonna spot him, no this one, no this one, no this--WHEN DOES THIS FUCK*NG LINE END!!!" And when it finally does you're left unsure what to do, should he leave ? What if there's more ?!? He can't stay there they'll spot him, FUCK!!, what should he do ?!!?? It did a great job putting you in Jesse's shoes, all the while making it clear just how huge this entire meth empire really was. It really gives this feeling like Jesse got embroiled in something so much bigger than him and that at any time he was one fuck up away from getting caught by an army of cops. For all of Walt's strength and cunning this scene really shows how weak they really were once the masquerade and the web of lies protecting them fell apart. The fact Jesse still made it out in spite of that really shows why he was so integral to Walt's sucess even after he stopped needing him. It's like Mike told Walt "just because you shot Jesse James doesn't make you Jesse James" and that's true but what Mike didn't realise is Walt worked best in a team. Heisenberg and Pinkman put together may not have been Jesse James but they sure as fu*k gave him a run for his money. Damn, what a good story this was. I'm so happy they showed how Jesse escaped, it really emphasised that point.
