Smooth, mellow, and soothing, like a really good glass of red wine.

"CHEVERE". twitter.com/oaoagarcia/status/1370562629601796096?s=20 twitter.com/oaoagarcia/status/1370555238705430531?s=20

A Great Underrated Band, but not in my opinion. This is the band that I was listening to during my time in the Military in the early 70s. These guys are REALLY GOOD!! I bought all their " Cassettes " at that time. They had a unique sound of their own. El Chicano ROCKS!! When I went back to the South Bronx New York, I turned all my friends to El Chicano. VIVA EL CHICANO!! 🕉

This is an interesting band. It seems they perform many jazz standards from the likes of, here Freddie Hubbard, but also Tito Puente, Gerald Wilson, and others. Love their chicano sound. Glad I found them.

Absolutely! Couldn't agree more. It's a shame Santana sold his soul...he was a huge influence for my brother. I wonder what happened that would make him turn like that, he was so spiritual & you could hear it in his music....I'm havin a tough time putting even his old music in my latin dial. Oh well, Malo, El C & so many others didn't...I respect them so much for that. Peace.

My first exposure to El Chicano. Heard this on an FM station when I was stationed in Jacksonville in the early 70's. Was already familiar with the tune, but really loved their take. It's a toss-up as to whether this one or Milt Jackson's version is my favorite.

Jeff Lanaghan Just heard Kenny Burrell's absolutely beautiful rendition on Detroit's WRCJ 90.9 FM a few hours ago, tried to find it everywhere on net but no dice. It was from the 1993 album Midnight At The Village Vanguard. I mean laid back beautiful.

I'm familiar with Kenny Burrell's version. He's one of my favorite guitarists. Sunflower is such a great tune, it's hard to imagine someone doing a bad version.
