Energy is still well capped by the recession fear. If that fear is gone, we can see a rerun of 22 in the gas price to the $4.5 range. The Powell will cry again.

Fed estimating inflation will be higher than estimated at 2.6% by year end but still planning on cutting rates. Will someone please replace them they have been weak less and continue to! Inflation is the biggest threat to our economy!

Maybe they won’t cut rates this year. They might have said that to test markets’ enthusiasm and see if that would push up inflation.

On no, market strength dominants over inflation. Bankers and wall street tycoons take priority over 2/3s of the citizens of the usa who cant even pay their ever rising rents and cost of food.

The USA does not print money, it sells treasury notes. The world during times of uncertainty rush to buy secure assets to safe guard their monetary value and USA treasury benefited from that during COVID and the inflation cycle. However, even that does not account for GDP, just because you inject capital does not always lead to growth. You need human capital, brains, creativity, ingenuity, hard working people to create that otherwise you just flood the economy with money leading to mass inflation if not hyperinflation like you see in Argentina. The USA had less inflation than most of the advanced economies in this recent cycle but has long term inflation pressures like lack of manpower which is why the USA needs immigration more than any other country, not becasue of population aging as much as the high demand for people.

Mohamed is very smart, he is able to see and communicate things that other economists are not able to do. However he changes narrative often. As example, like 1-2 months ago we was using the narrative that US should do rate cuts, and now that Fed is closer to do rate cuts, he is concerned about inflation. Maybe he just likes views for his videos?
