El Mercado de Coronado is the quick service restaurant at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and you won't have a bad meal while you're there, but it won't blow you away. The eatery features only a few Tex Mex-style dishes and then a variety of sandwiches and pastas which doesn't feel like it blends with the rest of the resort.

My favorite dining review from Ryno - "I didn't hate it" That makes me smile every single time! Hannah having to make her own nachos for $14 was a little odd. Evidently Ryno is not going to be checking out a naturalist venue anytime soon - "Not for me" was awesome and joins my other quote as a favorite now. Maybe that cupcake was a BAKED cheesecake which may have helped in food safety. I feel for any cast member having to serve this substandard fare. Having worked food service myself, it can't be comfortable. Craig and the college food comments - good grief. I think the fact that Craig forgot the name says everything right there. Loved the review - a fun spot in my day. "DIS team ate here so you don't have to" - my summary

Dying laughing at Ryno’s comments about people in bikinis. Coronado Springs is often a resort that hosts cheerleading teams. You must have been there during an event.

The nachos look like they came out of a school cafeteria lol. The burger itself looked okay, but for $17 it kind of looked like it wasn’t even cooked on a grill, it almost looked like the boca burger I throw in my oven to heat up. They skimped on the fries, too lol Disney food is still so weird, some moderate level stuff is so basic and some is so well thought out and well presented. Always hit or miss

It's funny you say that, because one time when I stayed there and wanted some milk to wash down a cookie I had gotten in the park earlier that day and I was joking that the individual milk in those little cartons reminded me of being in a school cafeteria. LOL

I have stayed at Coronado many times since 2018, it is my favorite resort. The food at El Mercado is very different, and very disappointing, since the pandemic. Before the pandemic El Mercado and Rix’s Sports Bar had many mexican style and inspired dishes. El Mercado even had a mexican food station that you could get a variety of dishes from, including quesadillas. They also had mexican style dishes for breakfast that were delicious. In the before times El Mercado also did made to order pizzas at the pizza station. They also had a variety of burger choices, now all you can get is a bacon cheeseburger. The pastry station also had a better selection and even had edible cupcakes, unlike the garbage cupcakes that disney sells everywhere on property these days. I don’t know who is coming up with the menu items for the restaurants at Coronado, but they have no clue what the theme of that resort is. And when the cheerleaders show up, as they did when I was there at the end of April, they turn El Mercado into a giant grab and go by putting all the food in containers under heat lamps, there is no option for the custom orders. I am very strongly considering staying somewhere else on my next trip due to the junk they serve for food at this resort now. It was nice to see you guys sitting at one of my favorite tables.

Totally agree. This place was so much better pre-pandemic. The rice bowls used to be build your own, where you could choose what toppings and ingredients were in it.

I can’t believe that gravy for cheese on the chips is cheese. Does it set like cheese or just congeal, no cheesey flavor. I didn’t like the food when I went a few years ago and it looks worse now.

They used to have this amazing breakfast bowl that had potatoes, eggs, cheese and all these yummy toppings like green salsa and ranchera sauce, etc. It was spicy and delicious!

The cheesecake used to reside in the fridge section about 2 years ago, and then last year they moved it to the pastry/cupcake window. I asked the server behind the window for the cheesecake and she kind of semi agressively told me it was a cupcake, she stated “we dont serve cheesecake here”. So I was like errr, okay il take the dulce de leche cupcake then. But its the exact same cheesecake that used to be kept in the fridge. I dont know if the staff who stock the windows/fridges understand what it is, and that it should be refridgerated?

I'm guessing the reason the menu is boring because kids are generally picky eaters. I imagine value and moderate hotels have more kids and teenagers then deluxe hotels.

El Mercado is definitely not great food . Also it’s more expensive than most resort quick service restaurants . I’ve been told it’s not run by Disney . Not sure if that happened after the pandemic.

I agree with you stunk it’s why we stopped cruising nhslf to almost naked girls everywhere especially in dining is unacceptable so if Disney doesn’t keep it tidy we may turn away from Disney as well as we have small children

I think this food court is run by a third party and not Disney. I had a horrible overpriced breakfast sandwich there.
