I feel like artists who delve as deeply into the craftsmanship of their art like El has since day one become conduits for-- lack of a better word-- mystic influences and whether they themselves know or understand this, it becomes self evident, through the language of the higher dimensions: coincidence. What we see as randomness or coincidence or chaos. Artists like P become a channel for prophetic visions, timeless truths and resonant metaphors

Had to comment after listening on iTunes. The story of him on ecstacy predicting the towers to come down was gold. I could totally picture El doing something like that. And yeah, pouring your soul out in words and burning it into your heart, mind and psyche is extremely powerful. It does have that uncanny ability to manifest itself.

Fantastic damage is what made me fall in love with ELP, and call him my favorite rapper and I always knew that he was a prophet, the same thing happens to me and I don’t think it happens to many other people, possibly Killer Mike to but most people are completely asleep to it. The same thing happened to me and I explain it the same way it was the veil ripping away and all I could see was a very harsh reality about this world and it changed me forever, I’ll never forget. I don’t wish it upon anybody. It will drive you insane, I think if you’re not an artist then it can destroy your life.

Not just the harsh reality about this world but the nature of reality, being that time isn’t what we think it is, that everything has to do with love, but there’s an energy, awareness, like reading between the lines. While most people have an old fashioned awareness of the world around and inside them and can only go from channel 2 to channel 5 to channel 12, but we have satellite cable, with Hundreds of the channels

I don't wanna listen to the next part because I really don't wanna stop eavesdropping on this conversation. I don't generally find most people have the uniqueness in perspective to warrant these long af interview podcasts everyone else is apparently so enamored with, but "most people" are not El-P, nor Open Mike Eagle. Mille grazi, my dudes.

@@jamiebrown4120 As opposed to his previous centrist or right-leaning POV and his noted reticence in regards to speaking his recalcitrant mind? WTF are you talking about?

I used to really enjoy El-P's artistry. Now, he's just one of my goddamn heroes.
