I believe Black Prior was the first example of 'insanely strong defence equals insane strength over-all', he wouldn't be alone with this as later character like Kyoshin and V.Guard would continue this character design. I think the biggest problem lies in the fact that extremely defensive heroes are extremely hard to balance because of just how good defence is in For Honor, with characters like BP and Kyoshin, the devs can't really change Bulwark or Kaze because its the main indentity of the character itself. V.Guard can go die though, fuckin' cheap Aramusha wannabe.

The thing that bugs me the most about bp is that he's designed as a defensive character with the ultimate "FUCK YOU" move being the flip, but also has three seperate bash moves and blue to boot. He's just so incredibly stacked compared to any other fullblock heroes that it's not even funny EXCLUDING the feat combos you mentioned which are even worse

You know there was a time people said the same thing about lawbringer. That he will always be strong because of his high HP pool and emphasis on parry punishes. Look at him now... He's the most generic of generic heroes. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they nerfed the bulwark flip to 15 damage, but allowed it to chain into a bash undodgeable 50/50 that can be spammed over and over again.

The only reason I started playing BP at the beginning of my For Honor career is because I thought it was smart for a knight to have a sword and shield. I thought I was picking the most basic character, but my first three man flip showed me the addictive mistake I’d just made.

I always lean towards characters which are more "heavy" oriented. Its what has lead me to be a fan of 'most' Knights. BP (as well as others) has made me conflicted, sure he has some decent heavy attacks but its almost easier just to do lights. I want a soft rework for BP but I know it will never come

So back in the day for honor used to release these "state if balance" post on steam,which showed pick rates and wins win rates of most people and then the top 4% along with all that stuff,bp since as far as you can go back on steam,has been a 4v4 monster with like a 67% win rate and the highest pick rate if like 5% in the top 4% atleast,for comparison shinobi had a 0.4% pick rate and 40% win rate and he was the very worst

No. He is legit busted. His bash is far less reactable and faster than other characters bashes. Lets say you go for a bash on kyoshin or kick on centurion. The enemy can still interrupt you while youre doing the kick. BP's bash is fast enough so that you are less likely to get stunned out of it. You also can spam bash to interrupt people. People dont wanna admit he's a stupid hero to go up against in a 1v1. He's just good at everything. Ganking, teamfighting,dueling. This character cannot be beaten unless your character is op. His defense is also too strong.

Yeah, I wasn't sure where the end of this video was going with him saying BP will always be strong bc of "poor balancing." You can make an argument for oathbreaker sure. But the rest of BP's kit is pretty simple and not hard to deal with. Bp is super easy to play but is incredibly good in all situations. Although it is very annoying to go against a good bp since they can shut you down very easily It’s not a character I’d consider insanely broken. That being said fuck oathbreaker. That shit needs to be removed from the game or heavily nerfed. It’s so stupid that the 1 mechanic designed to help you win an anti gank can be completely invalidated by the press of a button, and revenge is already ass in this game.

it's because he's the perfect everything counter, so long as this game continues to have its restrictive(ish, compared to other games) playstyle and same-same movesets/metas for each character, BP will be able to flip it. i would say they should wipe his moveset clean and start anew but they need to do that with SO MANY HEROES it's not even worth. Ubi hasn't realized that every rework they've put out for the last couple years has only been taking the game back in steps to the point where it's unrecoverable. game is old as fuck, actively dying and literally broken in just about every aspect. move to Chiv, your mental health will increase *slightly*
