Nice review. I found this sub at a Goodwill for $13 and wanted to learn more about it. Your video is the most informative I've watched so far. Going to be pairing it with some Boston CR7s to help bring out the low ends. I am looking forward to hearing how well they can blend together.

I have two SUB1010's wired in with Sony SSCS5's. I considered other subs before purchasing, and landed on these after reading lots of reviews. I listen to music more than I watch movies so it was a no-brainer for me. The SUB1010 is great for reproducing punchy/tight musical bass. For the low-end movie rumbles, I'll eventually add in subs that are designed to hit the lower frequencies that the SUB1010's can't hit. Great review!

Great review mines arrived today and I also have a pair of Klipsch RP 600's purchased mines for$119 from Amazon and for my Apartment is perfect almost pulled the trigger for a SVS subwoofer for$599 now I'm glad that I chose the Elac thanks for a very informative review and also it sounds fantastic with my RP 600's.

Two issues with this sub - rear porting forces you pull the sub at least 6 to 12" from the wall - so hiding it, nope. Then there's port chuffing as well / common with ported subs, but really noticeable with rear ported subs. Next, very underpowered - 60 watt rms? Maybe for a small office - better off with a Jamo C910 - front ported, 75 watt class D rms, and only $154.00 on Amazon. And nicer looking too.

@@Audiomainia2310 Some might say VERY NICE. I also bought the KEF KC62. I hope I don't love it that much more- it is $1600! I listen low volume so the KEF might be amazing- I hope not. I have 15 days to decide. Another favorite of many is the F12 by Rythmik. They have an affordable $8xx version which is also quite tempting. Rythmik is know to make some of the very best subs are reasonable prices. I prefer much over any SVS sub. Which do you have- the Elac? Can you just dover the ports? Or open it up, remove the baffles, then cover the ports? Should be an easy fix- less boom and SPF, but more detail when sealed I presume.

Very good as a lower volume, 2nd sub. mostly for music- to fill out the room.

Great review, I have the Elac SUB1010 Powered Sub paired with a Yaqin MC-12S, pair of upgraded Encore XLs, and JVC turntable (Nagaoka 150), the sound is incredible and flat from 30Hz to way far beyond my hearing range!

nice, I had a dilemma to purchase the psw-10 or the Elac sub1010 and after watching videos about it I've finally chosen the Elac, alot of people also say that the psw-10 sounds too boomy and distorts after like 75% volume while the elac can sound natural up to 90%

Thanks for the review -- very informative. I've had the SW 1010 for about a year after lightning killed my Pioneer SW 8. They're both Andrew Jones designs and nearly identical in size and back panel. Both do great for music and fine for home theater. Music matters a lot more to me. The room is 11x18x7.5 feet. Main speakers are 6.5" Axiom M3Ti's, which are rated to 60 Hz.

Nice review. I have two 2 channel systems with subs. I turn up the subwoofer level until I hear it and back it down a bit. I use the speaker level inputs and outputs and keep the heavy bass from the main speakers. I use the RCA inputs for the home theater sub.

I have a question. How do you use the Hi Level input ? Most subs I've seen have a input and output. This only has an input. What do you recommend? Surprisingly the manual doesn't explain how to do this either.

I'd love to connect my Yamaha powered sub to my Bose 'TV speaker' sound bar. The Bose has a 3.5mm bass out socket that I connected to the LFE socket on my sub. Got nothing! Bose say it is only comparable with Bose's powered sub. 😖
