Autumn olive has some admirable characteristics but it is a thug. They steal property from our native spicebush, viburnums and dogwoods. It’s an easy plant to ID by the silvery scales covering all parts of the plant. Check out these thugs in full bloom!

This is my favorite series, I could watch these all day. So glad to learn which plants to kick out of my yard (and neighborhood!)

Hilarious! She basically describes a miracle plant... wonderful fragrance, beautiful flowers for pollinators, produces incredibly nutritious and plentiful fruit for animals and humans, it's adaptable to all kinds of soils, it's drought resistant, fixes nitrogen in the soil, provides a habit for animals... but mercy sakes, it's a "bad guy" that "demands an herbicide." If it's beautiful and versatile, kill it? Wha?

Of course, that’s what the invasive species argument is turning into. “Don’t question it, just fall into line…”

If a food plant grows without problems or pests or diseases and does not need Monsanto chemicals it is declared invasive by Monsanto controlled USDA and taxpayers pay billions annually for Monsanto herbicide for agencies to spray wild areas lakes streams forests leaving behind deadzones . Invasive theory is a win /win marketing strategy for Monsanto.
