She may do what many of us do, PRE brown hamburger in bulk to use with different recipes like Italian or Mexican dishes, and season it when you are ready to make it. I brown hamburger 10 lb at a time and divide into containers and put it in the freezer so when I'm ready to cook it is ready to go, without dirtying a skillet every day. Very convenient. Just add the sauces/spices depending on the dish. Perfect for tacos spaghetti burritos chili anything that has ground beef as a base but very different spices. I do the same with chicken. Bulk pre cooking saves so much time!
@sherriforeman895311 ай бұрын
" like you're supposed to " ? To begin with, she had precooked ground meat at the beginning of the video. How would she have shown adding the taco seasoning to it when cooking the meat. Showing the package & using as seasoning is her recipe. 😆
@LuvScorpio11 ай бұрын
@sherriforeman8953 Who TF sprinkles dry taco seasoning on top of the meat??? You brown the meat, add the seasoning & water in the pan that you cooked the meat in. Let it simmer. Then use it however you wish. That's how you incorporate the seasoning with the meat. If you can't cook, just say so 🤷
@LuvScorpio11 ай бұрын
@Jack_Stafford I understand what you're saying, but I've never seen anyone sprinkle dry taco seasoning on top of the meat like she did 🤷🏽♀️ That's all. I appreciate your explanation. I think pasta, especially spaghetti, doesn't cook well in a crock pot. Since it can't really be stirred while it's cooking, the pasta tends to stick together, making big clumps of pasta that the inside of the clump is barely cooked! I prefer to minimize the water added to the crock pot, cooking the spaghetti on the stove like I normally would. After all ingredients in the crock pot are cooked, I add the already cooked pasta to the pot at the end. Then you know that the spaghetti is cooked evenly!

It's how they make the videos longer, so they can make more money. IMHO, the majority of these "best way to make..." videos are a scam. They find existing recipes online and try to make them "faster and easier" in a crockpot. The problem with that is, most of the time they're using ingredients that don't have the same cooking times or methods and everything either comes out undercooked or overcooked or both. This woman and several of the people on other channels just like this one, seem to be completely clueless in the kitchen. I think they've convinced themselves that even if they've never really cooked anything before, all they have to do is copy the way other people do things in their videos and the food will just turn out the way it's supposed to. Unfortunately it's more like the blind leading the blind because none of them seems to have a clue about what they're doing. LOL

I don't like enchilada sauce. I make my own taco seasoning as well because I don't like the packets because of the additives they add in there. So what I do when I make homemade tacos is I mix my seasoning with some beef broth and that makes tacos taste really good. I also make my own taco cheese by using my taco seasoning and sprinkling some on some colby jack and then you have your own taco cheese. I also shred my own cheese so you don't have the agents they put in the cheese to keep it from caking and sticking together. My recipe for taco seasoning is 3 tbsp of chili powder, than 2 tbsp of cumin and 1 tbsp of coriander. Mix it together and use it on anything you like to have a taco flavor in and it's really good. Plus it's so much easier than buying the packets because you probably have the ingredients in your home already and it'll save you money because if you already have the ingredients you don't have to go out and buy the packets. You can make a bunch of this ahead of time and put it in a container and then anytime you need taco seasoning you've got it. I do this all the time and I even put some in my deviled eggs and it's really good. So I think I am going to just make mine with some beef broth and my taco seasoning and I hope you guys try this recipe for my taco seasoning and I hope you like it.
@tracypleiss8271 Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your recipe, I like to make my own stuff from scratch too. Like the idea of sprinkling your seasoning on cheese too. Thanks
@SherryAnn1967 Жыл бұрын
@@tracypleiss8271 let me tell you the whole taco recipe. Make the seasoning and get 3 lb of ground turkey and use one and a half to 1 and 3/4 of a cup of beef broth to mix with your seasonings. Now I also hide vegetables in here so if your kids don't like vegetables this is the way to sneak them in. I use one medium zucchini and two carrots and peel them and shred them up as finely as I can and mix them in with my meat. And add a few cloves of garlic, but make it to your liking. If you don't like garlic then don't add any, but if you love garlic then add six if you like. But by hiding the vegetables in there the kids will never know and you can't tell they're in there either. My nephew hated zucchini and he loved my tacos and once I told him that zucchini was in there he couldn't believe it and he went back and had seconds and thirds. Thank you for writing back and letting me know that you like the recipe for my seasoning. I like cooking from scratch as much as possible because I'm disabled and I have health issues and I like to know what I'm putting in my body compared to all the additives and everything else that gets put into shelf safe food. Now I'm not going to lie and say that I don't ever eat any of that stuff because I do but I try to cook from scratch as much as my body allows me to. If there's any other scratch recipes that you're looking for please let me know and if I have something that I do for that then I will definitely let you have the recipe. I enjoy sharing my recipes and cooking for others when I'm able to cook it all and able to cook extra. I'm actually cooking this weekend and sharing with my son and my granddaughter. And remember you can add this Taco flavoring to just about anything. If you would like to use it and sprinkle it on some chicken, I say go for it. If you want to sprinkle it on a roast then cook it the way you normally cook it then I say go for that as well. Anything you want to taste like tacos then please by all means use it and hopefully you enjoy it. Like I said I've added it into my deviled eggs and still sprinkled some smoked paprika on the top and it was delicious. Now I didn't add a whole lot to it, but just enough that you could tell that it was there. And not many people could figure out what I had put in there until I told them and they were shocked how good it was. So spread your wings and use it wherever you like that flavoring and enjoy.

I noticed he did not eat a shrimp at least on camera. My question is why would you use shrimp with the tails still on? And whether or not crab is a stick (leg) or flaked it is all the same imitation stuff. Plus pasta does not cook well in crockpot and globs all together. The other recipes looked passable. Your use of the cheese shredder was hilarious. Might want to practice some off camera.

😂 Thankyou for this! Anyone who thinks imitation crab, tastes anywhere near real crab, has never had real crab! That imitation crap tastes like fish scented rubber! But when you're missing that many screws, you definitely should make videos claiming you want to eat healthy, but use imitation ingredients! I thinks she has proven that we all could actually start our own youtube channels! Oh, and let's not look past the pasta that didn't actually fully cook and was clumped together, probably still crunchy. But maybe that's to mask the crunch of all the shrimp tails she didn't remove! A child would choke on those! But in her defense, she is the one with the channel, not us. So her husband must be a very lucky man! Lol. I honestly watched this, only bcz it was in my feed, and I'm always down for new recipes! But the train wreck was so epic, I couldn't look away, and just watched the whole thing with dropped jaw! I may have typed a bunch of words here, but I'm literally speechless, bcz idk wtf I just watched! All I know is some of the stuff I saw was edible food, I'm not sure what the rest was. Lol

"Midwestern nice", just sounded sweet and polite to me, obviously wanted to be a little upbeat to make a video. Unless I'm trying to go to sleep I can't stand the boring monotone people that seem so serious or condescending, maybe you folks are from somewhere else but this is who you want cooking stuff for your football parties or family get togethers, not some dour sourpuss that hates the kitchen and thinks cooking is a chore. And she found a husband, I'm sure her kind disposition didn't hurt. Lol! Lighten up and have fun! Life is great!

If you hate cutting onion, here' s a way not to cry... ever again. Chew gum. Seriously. I've worked in Restaurants all my life, a prep cook told me. I keep gum in a drawer just for onions. It works everytime. Any flavor of gum. Enjoy.😊
@cakeandcakeandmorecake11 ай бұрын
I freeze my onions for about 20 minutes. Makes a huge difference when chopping. Especially for people who are not supposed to chew gum because of jaw issues.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for everyone (me🙋🏼♀️). I've tried every tip out there. The only thing that works for me is a very sharp knife and fast dicing. Even then, I'm at risk for tears.

If you put the Fritos in there towards the end, they will stay crunchy. Adding at the beginning, especially first, will ensure they are just a corn mush. It really depends on what you want but just know the limits of chips for cooking like this... says a guy that's been eating Frito Chili all his life.

Another thing, when u r making these dishes, u don't need all of that cheese!! Jus bcuz u own a crockpot doesn't mean that u Kno what u r doing! Have Mercy on all of that food wasted
