@Terika- it's just tossing a bunch of pre-coojed and pre-made ingredients together, with the occasion raw meat, fish or poultry. It should be the itger way around...a bunch of fresh ingredients with the occasional canned of pre-made ingredients, with the emphasis on little to no pre-made or ors-packaged ingredients.

Rao's is a good sauce, but it's super easy to make your own. I just take some crushed tomatoes, puree them in a blender. Then I add fresh diced onions, some garlic powder can also add a fresh diced garlic clove if you want), onion powder, just a pinch or 2 of himilayan or sea salt, black pepper (optional), and whatever other seasonings I want. Go light on each srasoning. And just add more if needed. You can add Italiaan seasoning or parsley or basil or oregeno. Just add things to yours and your family's liking. Putting it together really doesn't take but 5-10 minutes. Once you do that, you can store it in the fridge for a few days if you make it ahead...or you can cook it on the stove right for an hour or 2 in whatever dish you're adding it to...or in the slow cooker for several hours until the tomatoes and onions cook through and release their flavors into the sauce. Homemade is always better, because you're not adding alot of unhealthy or even toxic ingredients to your cooking. And you know exactly what you're putting in it...no questionable ingredients. Some of us really are trying to encourage you to come out of your comfort zone a little and try some actual real cooking, to boost your confidence in the kitchen and to upgrade your skill levelna little. We want you to see for yourself that yes, you CAN still make easy meals that are homemade. It takes a little more time and work, but you really can make a lot of easy homecooked dishes and recipes. That doesn't mean you can't still do some of these recipes using almost entirely pre-made ingredients.
@Hope-hg6uj7 ай бұрын
I so agree! Here in Italy we mostly use fresh and also make sauce as you described. I find it odd how many simple ingredients are processed in the US. I love some of the ideas on this channel I just wish more fresh stuff was used.
@lovefortruth34147 ай бұрын
@Hope-hg6uj here in the US, it all depends on how you grew up. If you were raised on a farm or in a rural area, you were not bombarded with "instant this or easy that", so you don't have that expectation of instant results for your efforts. The more influenced you are by suburban or city life, the more rushed and impatient you tend to become (not to mention, the more you tend to pile onto your plate). As far as homemade, not every single ingredient I use is from scratch. I do not make my own pasta, for instance...although maybe sometime in the future...who knows. I also don't usually use dried beans and rehydrate them for cookjng...although I have done it. However, anything that I can make from scratch, I will. The first time I made homemade bread when I got a ninja Foodi pressure cooker, the very first thing I made in it was a bread round. It was my first successful sandwhich bread and I've been making it at least once a month ever since! So I don't have bread on the house every day, but when I do, it's a real treat! I will never by store bought bread again. Unless it's ftom a real bakery. The quality difference is incomparable. I'm a novice cook, so there's alot that I don't know how to do. But I love sticking with what I fo know most nights. And then learning something new on occasion to add to my skills and to add variety to my family's menu. I'd much rather spend money on new gadgets that make cooking real food easier, or find techniques that speed up prep work, than go for the pre-made stuff. Other than needle (work very beginner sewer here), cooking is now my favorite homemaking skill. Ir's the ckean-up afterwards that I hate 😆

I love seeing what you cook, they are easy to prepare dishes and many look delicious! However, I cannot cook like this, way too much fat, aka one stick of butter, abundant cheeses and creamy sauces which are unhealthy for the body, but I am going to work on modifying some of your recipes that look delicious to a healthy, heart-conscious alternative recipe for our family. It would also be way beyond our budget to buy all those packaged sauces and other ingredients, and I prefer cooking from whole, fresh or frozen ingredients .

I'd never leave the first dish for 10 hours at work. Can be done in a saucepan in 10 minutes and grill chicken for flavor. And half the sauce. 2 jars of Raos is excessive for 3 breasts. This pasta dish is not meant for a crockpot. Grill the chicken then add to pasta and sauce. The hand mixer was a mess. Shrimp overcooked for 3 hours!! Oh no...shoukd be a stir fry.

@karenstevens63818 ай бұрын
She used the blender to SHRED the chicken, not chop it. There is a big difference. If she wanted it chopped, she would have cut it up before adding it to the crock pot. The first recipe with chicken, I tried and it was good. RAO'S is the ONLY jarred sauces Iwould use. No suhar, all natural and tastes most like homemade. If any recipe uses other brands, I always substitute with ROA'S Closest to southern Italian sauces I have found
