I owned a 2018 KIA Stinger GT2 in Canada for just over 4 years. I just traded it in for an Elantra N 5 weeks ago. I feel it was a great decision for me. The Elantra N has better gas mileage while still being almost as quick as a stock Stinger. Also, the Elantra N sounds way better.

Great to hear from someone that’s owned both! I’ve always liked the stinger but wasn’t a fan of how big it was, plus the price tag was just a bit high for me in the past.

I would pick the GT for RWD, interior space, interior/exterior looks and that spacious sport back trunk. The Elantra is great though but can't get over it's looks.
@tonydarby932 жыл бұрын
@@jpizel1070 The Stinger in Canada is AWD only, although it is rear biased. The sportback was nice but there is actually more leg room in the Elantra N back seat vs the Stinger back seat. And the trunk size of the Elantra more than meets my needs.
@johnhunt96742 жыл бұрын
Still a downgrade. Those stingers with the same mod destroys an elantra n. Even stock they aren't really close at all (stinger gt2 runs to 60 in 4.6 sec vs the N's 5.1 sec). Still getting gaped.
@randomuserame2 жыл бұрын
Kia stinger isn't a "track ready" car from stock. It's a premium sport full-size grand tourer sedan w/hatch. Elantra N is a track-ready pure sport compact sedan. They're both nice cars, but comparing them is like apples to oranges. Kia Stinger is a nice car for what it is, but it's not going to win any track days without some serious mods. If your just looking for track day wins, go with Elantra. If you're looking for a less-popular, "dark horse" sporty larger car with some get-up-and-go, the stinger is one of the best at the price point and segment.

The Kia stinger with the same light tune (JB4 map4) sees much higher gains, and would stomp an Elantra in a straight line. How do I know? I have owned and tuned both. I also have draggy results and dyno results. I love my EN, but if both are equally tuned, it just doesn’t stand a chance. However, the Stinger is a big girl, and put her on a track and the EN takes it.

I definitely believe it. The stinger I’m sure is capable of a lot more power, but the EN is a way better track car like you said. 👍🏻

That's insane how cheap your insurance is. I'm absolutely not surprised a tuned EN DCT is faster than a stock Stinger GT. The Stinger is a much larger, heavier car. But if it was also tuned, it would blow past the EN in a straight line. And being in California, I haven't had any issues with police (literally drove up next to them several times in the VN) and small pops from the exhaust since I normally drive in Sport mode around town. I think it's just that 1 cop was being an asshole out to get that kid. In reality, most cops are cool and not going to pull you over for a loud exhaust (that's just what ppl in other states like to think) unless you're doing something else stupid and illegal.

Yeah that guy in the previous video was unfortunate to catch a cop that was power tripping or maybe just having a bad day lol. And for the insurance, good driving record and me being a little older likely helps haha.

Maybe it's certain areas. In LA (across the county) there are MUCH louder exhausts and cops don't seem to even hear them, streets are hit-or-miss in terms of actual speeding, and freeway/highway is the wild west.

With the EN you have the ability to adjust the suspension making it soft or stiff to your liking. Daily driving I have it on its softest setting, and it feels just fine and is not harsh at all. Plus, it’s faster than the VN 😁
