The one thing I don’t like is when the catcher moves to behind the batter or closer to him that just makes it more dangerous in my opinion
@randomstuff5085 ай бұрын
It's good to remember that not all ejections for HBPs are because it was strictly intentional. If the pitcher was especially wild, he could be a hazard if he keeps pitching. You can also tell if a pitch was intentional or not by the body language of the pitcher. If it was intentional, they normal don't move, no shaking of the hand, glove up to get the ball, and normally staring down at the batter. If it was a mistake, you can easily see the pitcher react to it as such, like looking away, hopping, shaking their hand, etc. Now, there's alot of subtly, and at times, you won't be able to really tell.

It said it before if you want to stop getting hit by a pitch from the pitcher. All you have to do is stand deep in the box let the pitcher pitch, swing at it purposely miss it, over swing let go with the top hand do a full rotation with the back hand with the bat in your hand and clock the catcher in the side of the helmet. Repeat that two more times every time over swinging, every time clocking the catcher in the side of the helmet with your bat. make sure you apologize to the catcher then look out at the picture tip your hat and walk to the dugout cuz you're struck out. That pitcher will never throw at you again, because if he does, the catcher is going to go out there and beat him senseless.

I guess it's from the origins of the sport organization and all....I still don't feel the fashion combo of umps with the black pants, black dress shirt, black sports jacket, ball cap and face mask really work. Like someone needs to make something that actually looks good rather than goofy. That worked back in the time when helmets were a consideration and you took every ball to the head like a lunatic. We're in the day and age of so much information and creativity. Someone design some kind of classy outfit for umpires to wear that doesn't look like they're going for some weird music video background extra.

In instances where the umpire has issued warnings to both sides, any intentional hit by pitch after that results in the pitcher and manager both being ejected.

It's all about preventing escalation. Perfect example is probably one of the most famous incidents in baseball history. Robin Ventura charging Nolan Ryan. That wasn't some spontaneous event/decision. Earlier that year, during spring training, Ryan hit another White Sox player in retaliation for showboating a home run. The two teams had beefed with each other all season long. The two teams faced each other the week before and it got pretty heated. In the documentary "Facing Nolan" they claim that the White Sox manager told his players if you get hit by Nolan Ryan and don't charge the mound, you would get fined. IDK how true that is. Anyhow... one of the WS pitchers hit a rangers hitter earlier in the game... Nolan hit Ventura. Nolan gave him a few good shots. Ventura and Lamont (ws manager) got thrown out. Nolan didn't. The joke being Nolan had more hits than the WS that night.

@randomstuff5085 ай бұрын
The pitcher doesn't have to hit the batter. It's obvious that he has clearly attempted to hit the batter on that pitch. Hell, the batter *literally* walked backward out of the strike zone because he knew it was coming.
@anewfuture4 ай бұрын
I have a solution for hit by pitches that baseball fans probably won't like, but I'm not a baseball fan. Make a hit by pitch a home run. All runners, including the batter, advance to home. Additionally, eject the pitcher, and later reviewed for suspension/fine. At the professional level there is no excuse for this. It is only 18 meters. You aren't going to hit the batter unless you either have no business being on the mound, or if you did it intentionally. Either way it should be punished.

I say the team loses the designated hitter and the pitcher has to take the line up. Trust me when I say managers will be pissed at losing their DH because the pitcher is a fucking crybaby.

Imagine MLB being so out of touch with its own rules they allow people to harm their players by throwing 70+ mile an hour fast balls at eachother and I mean AT EACH OTHER. These aren't over the plate, you tell me you can strike a team out and unintentionally hit someone in the head? 😂 these are intentional crimes.

MLB is corrupt! PItchers, catchers, umpires, and announcers are in collusion, in a conspiracy to promote the game by encouraging, allowing and excusing assaults on pitchers with impunity. As soon as the deed is done, three things automatically happen, 1) the catcher jumps up to intercede should the victim march on the pitcher, 2) the umpire acts with indifference and inserted of throwing out the batter he throws the pitcher another baseball, adding a coda,a gesture of approval of the spectacle. 3) the announcers rejoice at the batters being hit, normalizing the bad behavior. 4) fans do not boo very little if at all, since the behavior has been normalized. The Commissioner of baseball is quiet, afraid to upset the state of affairs. This happens due to cowardice on behalf of the umpires and the Commissioner. MLB only cares about ticket sales, to hell with chronic injuries to baseball players. Umpires are cowards when an entire stadium is watching them. Cowardice, cowardly umpires. They issue warnings, AFTER a batter is hit. Every umpire should issue a blanket warning at the beginning of every game, and/or the Commissioner should speak out against intentional assaults on batters at risk of ejection and fines.
