But I can see myself doing it and then regretting it immediately. I would feel like that's out of character for me and would want to make up for it somehow. Thank him for being understanding, and ask him to please give the players some extra space to do their jobs in the future. They're out there for the fans, y'know? Stay out of their way.

You know, that struck me the same way as well. And I thought about it and realized a lot of players just disregard fans and act like they're invisible after they slam into them in the stands. I don't really get it. Like is someone going to punish you for doing a quick once-over and making sure everyone is okay? MLB would definitely look like villains if they punished a player for that. Are the players really butthurt that the fan is in their seat where they're supposed to be? I'm not referring to live plays that are still in motion of course, but when the ball is dead I think you can take a second to be like "you guys good?".

"Accidental Apologies" would be a series of apologies that themselves happened by accident -- the person making the apology didn't intend to apologize. What we have here are "Accident Apologies," which are apologies for accidents for which an individual was responsible. I honestly clicked here because I wanted to see cases where people apologized without meaning to and maybe tried to rescind their apologies. Words matter.
