From Malenia to the Godskin Duo, I wanted to discuss my thoughts on every main boss to express my own experience based on the popular opinions of each because they all have unique combat and other mechanics that set them apart from each other.

I do think that trophy/achievement bosses should be considered real bosses, not minibosses, plus some of the Great Enemy Felled, like Apostle in Caelid.Also, Lansseax is female.

The normal final boss should’ve been Radagon with an extra phase. I feel like the Elden Beast should’ve been a secret final battle, if you got all of the shards. Kinda like the Moon Presence with the umbilical cords.

Wow, we have completely different tastes in bosses, haha. I watched this and disagreed with almost everything you said, but with the way you presented it I still really enjoyed hearing your perspectives on these videos. I started the Souls series with Elden Ring and it's interesting to hear just how differently Souls veterans approached the game compared to newer entries like me. Amazing video!

Fighting him without horse or summons is surprisingly fun, he gives a lot of good openings but still with enough challenging attacks that you have to watch out for. That + the reputation and spectacle makes him my fav boss in the game

I love Radahn but he feels way too easy because of how scripted he is as a boss. Any good damage setup and you can basically skip his first phase since he locks himself into the: 1) Cragblade phase transition 2) Big AOE that you can go behind to avoid. Between those two attacks you get so much free time to punish. Then he again is scripted to waste more time summoning meteors after phase two transition. Overall an amazing boss but he needs more health imo

At first I hated Elden Beast, but after killing it a few times I've grown to love the fight(especially after learning how to dodge elden stars). It's so majestic and almost all the attacks feel satisfying to dodge. I think it's frustrating at first because it has the most moves in the game and it's right after you killed Radagon.

I gotta say I love the format and would love to see these for other games! What I love especially about it is yes you are going over your opinion on these bosses as per usual but you're also trying to weigh that against how the rest of the community sees them. What's cool about this is that there are corners of the From Soft community that seemingly have completely different viewpoints. All that I've seen from fans is that they all hate the Godskin Duo, but you recently made a community poll where people seemed to like them. So it's dope to see that as your influence on the community grows to see how you think the rest of the community reacts to these bosses. Very interested to see this done for other games!

I like Godskin Duo. I don't think it's amazing since it's still a gank boss but compared to the other Elden Ring bosses and compared to other gank bosses in Fromsoft games it's above average for me. I can even give you another extreme opinion connected to Godskin Duo. I've seen lots of people say that Godskin Duo is a bad take on Ornstein&Smough but personally I think Godskin Duo>O&S. I'm really not a big fan of O&S and don't get why people like that fight.

Before the video starts, Yes. Do these for dark souls and the other games. First of all, free content. Second, Dancer is underrated and is an S tier boss for what she is aiming to be. Not a final bad guy, not the standard knight duel, but a properly challenging fight that is unique, yet still very fun.

I think the reason why Radahn stuck out to me is because of my experience fighting him on my first playthrough - I didn't know you could resummon the NPCs for the festival if they die, and everyone (or well, Okina, Lionel, Alexander and Blaidd) got absolutely obliterated when phase 2 arrived due to standing right in the meteors aim. So I panic for a few seconds until I realised that I can summon Torrent and the rest of the fight was basically just a horseback duel, me using Glintstone Sorceries and Radahn using his gravity magic. I will admit that being summoned a fair share amount of times now for his fight in co-op has made the whole spectacle be a bit less, well. Grand, but that's okay. Meanwhile everytime I get summoned for Rykard whenever I put down my summoning sign I just scream in joy and equip my +9 ish Serpent Hunter. I've always been a sucker for more gimmick-y fights and Rykard felt like FromSoft has perfected the Storm Ruler variant by now.

I like Elden Beast but I agree with you. What I think they could have done (outside of adding Torrent) is to have to fight it for specific ending, like the Moon Presence. Like: - All Elden Lord, you don't fight it since you repair (and modify a bit) the Elden Ring) - Age of Star, you fight it because Ranni "erased" the Elden Ring of the Lands Between - Lord of Frienzied Flame, you fight it because you get ride of every sins of the Greater Will

Most elden ring bosses are underrated, or more like "Overhated", most main bosses are amazing and have great variety and spectacle, they get too much undeserved hate. I'll definitely say that i have pretty different opinions, specially with Nial and Elden beast.

Niall is very overhated, the Elden beast hate is very justified. Elden beast fight in a nut shell -You beat its ass without it doing anything to stop you -> runs away spamming magic -> occasionally hits you with stuff you can’t see because of the shitty camera for 85% of your health Elden beast boils down to how many flasks you have 9/10 times, never feels like a fun skill check.

Nial is a great boss, he great moveset and spectacle, the only argument you can make against him is his summons, but remember: 1- you can summon aswell 2- you can use bewitching branch to not only beat the summons but also make the fight easier. 3- you can beat them yourself pretty easily as nial is passive in that stage, he's a commander afterall. And The elden beast hate is nowhere near justified, just because he runs a few times doesn't equate to him being terrible in any capacity, at best i could be slightly annoyed, he has some of the best spectacle and scenery ever, great somber music and arena, great cosmic design and cool moveset that feels engaging enough for a final boss, you can even know where he's going to land when he runs away to catch him for a few hits, and most times he comes back with a swing, he's pretty good. And the camera is really not a problem, he distances himself a bit when doing his close ranged attacks so you can always see what's coming. And the fight can become a literal joke if you have divine fortification, as most the damage is holy.

Commander O'neil was amazing and the reason for this was the mobs. It added a different level of play, and it was the first boss that really forced me to change my playstyle and I started properly utlizing multi-weapons instead of sticking with a specific weapon.

Whether you like it or not Elden Beast is one of if not the most unique boss fights in the game which has an unreal amount of repeat boss fights. For that reason alone it's a memorable and underrated fight to me.

If you didn't have to face this combination because you got good RNG, used the glitch where EB swallows its own stars while moving or if you used Black Flame or Death magic and killed it too quickly - I can understand why Radagon would seem harder to you. The Ceiling for the amount of bullshittery EB can pull is, however, much higher.

Absolutely agree with Elemer. After a level 1 run, I feel like Elemer would definitely be one of the best singular fights in the series if he had a cooler setup and more emotional impact. His moveset is literal perfection, he’s a classic dark souls boss amplified with Elden Ring’s flashiness and combos

I also really love fighting the Godskin Apostle. The first one I encountered was after I got Radahns Great Rune. It was so creepy! Like you said. I do hate the duos fight giving the Godskins a bad name. I also just keep thinking about how much I miss that first time play through. While you were talking about Godrick I was thinking about my first time fighting him and man. That first playthrough is so magical

I personally think Melania is the most overrated boss in Elden Ring. She has some fun attributes that is almost Sekiro like in the first phase especially, but her one off moves of Waterfowl Dance and even sometimes the Lotus are not fun to fight and can absolutely melt you if not perfectly dealt with. That combined with the random fact she can regen health despite it not really being for any reason just makes it frustrating. I ended up beating her by just using heavy stagger based attacks to knock her around or stagger her to prevent her from even being able to try attacking me. She is the only boss I fought in Elden Ring where I purposely played to prevent them from attacking as much as possible because I just didn’t wanna go through actually dealing with the potential of Waterfowl. It’s not like any other characters like Morgott, Godrick, Godfrey where I felt their move sets were engaging enough to not focus on shutting down their offense.

Contrary to you, I actually like her moveset alot. The healing on hit wasn't much of a deal breaker for me since I was going for a regen/quality build. I used Bloodhound's fang against her and to dodge her waterfowl I would just use bloodhound step. For the scarlet aonia(Lotus attack) just beneath her and she will miss the attack completely. She was tough but only took me 3 tries to beat her (NG+ definitely gave me but of trouble). Plus she is one of the best bosses to fight without any summons or spirit ashes imo, even recommended. My biggest gripe on bosses so far is the Godskin Duo, that too without any summons. Those guys are annoying as hell and I had to constantly go around pillars to split them and those pillars break as well bruh. They were definitely not fun to fight at all. I like to be constantly engaged in a bossfight and Godskin Duo definitely take sthat feeling away. I ended up using sleep status effect to put the Godskin Noble to sleep which made the fight alot more bearable

Which Astel were you rating? The two in the game differ vastly in difficulty, with the one at the Lake of Rot being the easier one. That was one one you showed in the video so I assume you missed the other one.

Fun fact about Fia’s champions: according to the Elden Ring Wiki, apparently when you get held by Fia if you do her quest, I assume if you’re online, your build gets uploaded to FromSoft to be used in the boss fight as one of the champions.

Radagon's grab > stomp > thrust combo usually catches me off-guard because it looks like he is cancelling out of his grab recovery animation and his thrust feels nigh unreactable. Also why do some of his teleports have different delays

One of the things I like about Elden Ring personally is that I've beaten more bosses on my own here than I have in any other Souls game first playthrough. I'm proud of myself. Or at least without actual co-op. I used to always need help with the bosses and in ER I've been able to win either by myself or with spirit ashes. Some bosses I needed help with though obviously.

Great Video. agree with a lot, but what i disagree with is... ... Malekith, I don't like the first pahse that much, but the second is AMAZING. I love parrying that one attack where he swooshes down from the air. ... 4:45 The rings are VERY easy to dodge, jump over the incoming ring and keep running, that's it. The more annoying one is Elden stars, but even that is very dodgable. ... Elden beast for me is underrated af. Yeah it sucks that we can't use Torrent, kinda, but it isn't that bad, at least it isn't for me. ... Godrick was way too easy for me, I was low level (cause ER was my first souls game and I literally didn't know how to Level up (I missed Melina in my 1 PT)). Still very easy. But Satisfying. ... Radahn is still my second favourite Boss, overrated, yes. But he can't really be underrated the way he's rated.

Elden Beast is A tier. Yeah, I know this isn't a popular opinion, but hear me out. Every move he has is reasonably dodgable but requires positioning not just roll timings. And with the running back to the boss across the arena, I think it makes a pretty good change from all the other massive bosses in that you're fighting a boss, not hacking at ankles. Also, my Elden Beast experience when doing a level one run was the best I've ever had in gaming, full stop. The suspense running towards it after an 8 minute fight makes it good.

I feel like your opinion is all over the place. What aspect exactly are we underrated/overrated of these bosses? Because for certain bosses you rated them overrated for simple gameplay even though it has great aesthetics, but then its underrated for other bosses for the same reason. And then certain bosses get underrated for being too hard while others get overrated. Honestly don't know what are the standard we are judging here.

Here's what I think: Modern Dragons: Underrated (after Liurnia they are becoming dull, but Adula is still a great Dragon) Leonine Misbegotten: Underrated (it was pretty dissapointing for it's area, but a solid average boss) Margit: Underrated (same as you, he doesn't get enough credit) Godrick: Underrated (same as Margit) Ghost Loretta: Properly Rated (it is the type of Boss who I didn't see many opinions on, so I think it is another solid, average boss) Magma Wyrms: Underrated (I see people hate on them, but they aren't bad) Red Wolf: Underrated (same as you, kinda enjoyed it) Rennala: Underrated (I saw too many people putting her in bad spots in tier lists, she is a good boss) Dragonkin of Nokstella: Underrated (epic, but not enough credit, and people say it's too easy) O'Neil: Underrated (summons add to the fight, O'Neil is very passive when summons are alive, so you can safely kill them, pretty gun if you ask me) Radahn: Slightly Overrated (definitely not number 1, but still a Top 4 for sure) Mimic: Underrated (brilliant idea, mediocre execution) Regal, Ancestor: Underrated (another fight shitted on because of difficulty. It is a great change of pace, where you can even relax a bit) Gargoyles: Underrated (Duo isn't good, but Gargoyles are well made enemies on their own) Godskin Apostle: Underrated (yup, Godskin Duo really shreds his reputation) Godskin Noble: Underrated (same as Apostle, but I think Noble is better than Apostle) Lansseax: Underrated (epic fight. Arena may be bad, but the boss itself is really well made) Elemer: Underrated (they really praise the Pursuer for being like this, but shit on Elemer for being Pursuer, but cooler? Anyway, great fight) Astel: Underrated (not enough credit, good boss, just not good enough to be praised) Fia's Simps: Overrated (easily the worst Great Enemy Boss in the game, I dislike NPC Boss fights, maybe besides Patches and Gideon) Fortissax: Underrated (really good Dragon, comparable to Sinh and Kalameet, not enough credit, people should try fighting him before Gelmir and Leyndell, not in endgame) Rykard: Underrated (same as you, the best Gimmick fight in the series) Goldfrey: Underrated (outshined by it's real version, but still not bad) Morgott: Underrated (easily Top 3, and in my opinion he's better than Godfrey/Hoarah Loux) Niall: Underrated (O'Neil, but just better, summons can be killed fast, and then it's 1v1 with a cool boss, people shit too much on him) Fire Giant: Underrated (the best Giant fight in the series, just try fighting in front of him, then the fight becomes better, and try staying on horse) Real Loretta: Properly Rated (another good boss, I don't have any complaints, it's just not that epic) Malenia: Overrated (I don't like her character, the fight feels unfair and fair at the same time, Waterfowl can straight up go to hell, still a good boss, but not that good) Mohg: Underrated (still very slept on fight, easily the best fight in ER, besides one more boss...) Godskin Duo: Underrated (Duos are bad, but enemies on their own are good) Placidusax: Properly Rated (same as you) Maliketh: Underrated (easily the best ER boss, and maybe even the best boss of From's history, people don't like the 1st phase, which is very good if you ask me, and find him overwhelming because they need to think) Gideon: Underrated (he isn't good, but at least our relationship is good, so it would make this fight emotional. Would) Hoarah Loux: Properly Rated (no need to explain, amazing boss) Radagon/Elden Beast: Underrated (yes, putting them TOGETHAAAAA. While Radagon, the epic fight, doesn't get enough credit, Elden Beast just gets WAAAAAY too much hate. It is a great spectacle, it looks beautiful, and I don't mind it's running away too much, it adds to the spectacle. It is a great fight, I don't really know why it is hated, Elden Stars is manageable, unlike Waterfowl) My opinion though.

Finally some respect on Elmer and Godskin Sticher also I definitely died to Mimic, Gideon and Fia's Champions quite a few times and thoroughly enjoyed them all, but they don't hit the top 10, although I'd definitely say all 3 are underrated.

It really ameazes me how many people unironically think that adding torrent to elden beast fight would made it better. All you need is five seconds of thinking to realize that it would completely trivialize the entire fight since you'd be able to avoid 90% of it's attacks without any trouble. There would be no chalange. It would simply turn a controvercial boss which some hate some like into a much less exiting divine dragon which nobody gives a shit about

The different fighting styles are what make the final bosses so great. It begins with a classic humanoid/man in armor boss fight that we love so much from fights like Artorias and Sir Alonne, and ends with fighting a huge beast that spams bullshit. It’s everything a souls fight should be.

In my experience Fias champions can be very frustrating. It summons other players mimics and I got some ridiculous combos a few times. I don't play pvp in these games so fighting 3 people with some of the more annoying weapons like black knife ass daggers and rivers of blood was pretty annoying for me.

I disagreed with the vast majority of your takes, but I also knew going into this that we have very different things we look for in a boss. Was still fun to watch, and would enjoy seeing videos of this type for the other games. Also for as much as we disagree on, I'll give you props for properly appreciating Godrick and the Regal Ancestor Spirit. Godrick remains one of my favorite bosses in the game, and is one of the few bosses I feel like wasn't designed around having a summon, and the ancestor spirit is just an incredible experience. I feel like a lot of souls players care way too much only about whether a boss is "hard".

Misbegotten on the peninsula was the first boss fight i won. I went north to margett and tried him with only like 3 levels got whooped so then i went south. Misbegotten felt tough but fair i think i beat him first try still but i felt challeneged with him being my first real boss

I’m gonna give the benefit of the doubt and assume when you said lanseax was just a “placidusax clone” you meant fortissax clone bc in what universe is lanseax more similar to the 4 - 2 headed dragon that teleports and fires laser beams from its mouth than it is to the dragon that is literally lannseax’s brother and has basically all the same moves but with the addition of death buildup and missing the glaive 😅

Rennala was my first true skill check on my first playthrough. I was under leveled and was using magic so I didn't do alot of damage. Melee builds make her a cake walk

I think the only good point of the Elden Ring Dragons is their visual design. I don't know how we went from Midir to this but hacking at a leg while dodging on instinct because tha camera doesn't zoom out it's not my idea of fun.

A few thoughts: Niall. I think the difference is the approach. The way I dealt with him was I ignored the summons, or at most burned one down, before focusing on him. The fight is actually a lot of fun. When he has summons, he doesn't use his taser leg much if at all, and it's a dance between managing multiple enemies and burning him down. Then he gets powered up after a while, and it turns into a 1v1 where he does cool shit. Honestly, I think he is kinda like nameless but with a less annoying first phase. Rennala is decently difficult. The problem is that whatever build you went with did way too much damage comparing to my experience. open world things I guess. When she summons stuff the fight becomes a clusterfuck and it's honestly some fun panic. Unpopular opinion. I liked elden beast. He is not hard, he gives that "oh fuck there is another one" feeling on the first encounter but that's all. He is basically a victory lap after Radagon. Just try to get close and he is just a big punching bag. Godrick. Not to call you out, but to say that misbegotten is overrated then saying Godrick is underrated for the same reason is... meh. He barely has any delayed attacks, everything can be rolled, and he has huge windows for attacking. I think more people would get stunned by misbegotten rather than godrick under similar circumstances. Noble. No, just no. Fleshy skeleton wheel with ungodly tracking is no. just no. Lansseax I kinda agree with, but honesly, he is the first ancient dragon I found (probably for a lot of people the same) so he left an impression while fortissax to me is just buffed lansseax.

The Mimic Tear should simply always use your highest upgraded gear which scales best with your stats (and toss a coin in case this is true for multiple pieces of equipment). Being able to "disarm" it by simply having no weapon in hand while its copying you is just bleh. O yeah, and maybe add a second phase where it becomes a larger, supercharged version of the various silver tears which fights by generating several different weapons from itself.

Kalameet is still at least top 2 dragon boss for me. Why? Because he wasn't stupid. He can fly and you can't so he grills you with fire without any way of retaliation, the game shows you that dragons are simply far more powerful. Only later you can force him to fight you on the ground.

I think you’re correct in that most people underrate the easier bosses because with subsequent play throughs they feel… ignorable? But to me the majestic reveal coupled with my own excitement elevate a lot of them. Just because they’re easier than, say, Radagon, doesn’t mean that the spectacle of the battle can be dismissed. You have a good eye for proper critiques :) keep it up!
