@@amigosilo Huh. Been too long since I fought Margit to remember. I took a break a few months back and now I'm waiting a few more weeks for the DLC. I'm just gonna say fuck it and go in with my really high level max NG cycle character. I want to have the stats to screw with every weapon upon picking it up. I did it in Bloodborne with Old Hunters and I'll do it again. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, I may speedrun a zillion NG cycles to farm a turbo nuts amount of Ancient and Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stones. I want to be able to fully upgrade at least one of each new weapon type and considering how conservative From was in placing them within the basegame, I can't imagine the DLC has any more than maybe two of each at absolute maximum.

Margit isn't an illusion, he's a phantom. He even appears using the same effect as furled finger. He's basically invading you from leyndel. The reason margit is susceptible to status is the same reason the player is while they're in other player's worlds.

Baldachin's Blessing is actually an OP buff. +35% physical damage negation, +35% poise and it completely negates stagger for 15 seconds (apart from attacks that send you flying through the air). Definitely situational, but very effective when used properly.

Hey Chase, you can parry Mohg’s blood attacks with Carian Retaliation, which makes punishing the rain attack and the blood throw attacks really easy

There's different types of scarlet rot, depending on how you fill the status meter!? Like it's less effective if it just barely reaches full from slower residual build up, if it was filled up while you are just standing in it? That's wild!

No it's just that Lake of Rots status is higher damage than normal rot.

@@BreadNHoney Yeah I looked into this after this video, and I had no idea scarlet rot sources had different DOT rates! I'm assuming the source of rot damage that you take when the meter is filled is what determines it's DOT. From what I was reading the version you get from it filling after rolling in any body of rot water, has it's own unique DOT rate.🤷‍♂

Hey Chase, weapon suggestion here, although it would probably be a good idea to wait until you have the silver scarab talisman, but since you are leveling Arcane your item discovery should help with farming the archer gollems for their bow/arrows. I recommend farming the one at the top of the lift of Dectus and using the site of grace just north of it. If you don't feel like using the bow then no worries, love the series can't wait for the next one :)

I don't know if you got it off camera but you walked right by a larva tear on Mt.Gelmir, it is dropped by a Wormface disguised as a flaming Putrid Corpse, east of the Road of Iniquity site of grace. Your invasion target was once killed by that Wormface and you were confused where it came from.

The reason you see so many over levelled phantoms early on is because having your buddy burn some early game stuff for you and get you to the 50s makes the game smoother if you're mid like I am.

Astel is my kryptonite. Everything he does has a huge AOE so it’s really hard to have good positioning. His grabs, the antigravity attack, and waves of darkness in particular feel really hard to defend against.

For some reason that Tree Spirit at 30:29 can die from Scarlet Rot if You use an item for co-op and join someone if You're in that general area, You can join someone from near or far it doesn't matter. When You get back to Your own world wait a bit and then the Tree Spirit should start to die no need to fight it. Make sure You don't aggro it before doing that. not sure if it works with just the Small Golden Effigy or other multiplayer items I only ever used the gold effigy so I don't know if Invasion items work.

sort your weapons and talismans by recently added and then use your box at a site of grace to organize them the way you want (or screen grab chase and do it that way). I do them by ease of use- most used stuff should be near the middle with options around it for quick swapping (example: keep the two fingers talisman near the turtle talisman or the crimson amber medallion). For talismans make sure your most likely to be swapped one is at the far left so you can get to it quickly with down. Get used to using the bumper buttons to swap slots rather than backing out of the menu and practice closing the inventory with start button instead of mashing circle.

@@Pharells as you play you’ll get a feel for what belongs where based on your playstyle. It very much depends on what you plan on using mainly. For example if I was mostly running colossal weapons I would make sure to have a quick finisher like a shamshir or a dagger on quick swap so I can finish off a low HP enemy quickly. I also tend to soft swap a misericorde because it’s more convenient to have it on hand and Im not that consistent to be able to hard swap it on riposte yet. ashes of war are also really important to consider. having something like flaming strike or waves of darkness on quick swap will let you do wakeups after a backstab like chase does. same goes for stuff like marika’s hammer or anything with crazy hyperarmor, you need a get off me tool ready to go when you get surrounded.

I think you should get the executionar greataxe. A great strenght weapon and also the highest crit weapon (misericorde has a bigger multiplier but because executionars greataxe has more damage it does more crit damage)
