I wish fromsoft had put in a jumping puzzle using their destroyable boxes. There was a section in one of the jar dungeons that I thought would turn into that but it didn't. The beginning reminded me of that!

That's a very weird request, but there's actually something comparable. When you get the Carian Glintstone sword, there's also a section of Castle Ensis, which (to my knowledge) you can only reach from the top of the wall. But, if you want to get up on the wall you would have jump from the top again, making it so you can't get both the sword and the other loot in one go. That is unless you go get the sword and use one of the boxes to jump on the wall to the left. You can also use the brazier to the right, which can't be destroyed but from there you would have to do a much harder jump. Still, you put me in a deep state of confusion over why you want this.

He's my least favorite of the DLC bosses, but never understood how people could put him down as bad as Bed of Chaos, Nicholash or Ape Duo. Like Demon of Hatred, he got undeserved flac, even if they have room for improvements.

I can't think of any bosses that only take 3 hits no matter what even if you die, has the ability to one shot you by opening up holes at random around the arena and those holes stick around for subsequent attempts. As well as basically 0 attack patterns, all of which can ultimately be ignored by skirting around the edges of the arena. If a boss takes any actual skill, has more than 3 hp that resets between attempts, has an arena that doesn't randomly open up permanent holes or has attack patterns, it's better than BoC.

I will never not enjoy ongbal videos. The absolute creativity and uniqueness of each kill, combined with the deadly precision is just so entertaining to watch. Also, thank you for speaking your mind and saying gaius is a good boss. I'm not sure if you remember, but I asked you about him in the last video you killed him and I'm happy you haven't changed your mind. I think gaius is underrated and very much overhated, because of one attack, even though there are other bosses, who have stupid attacks.

I'm always shocked at just how many enemy attacks you DON'T need to roll; just strafing, jumping, backstepping is enough to get you of harm's way and even puts in a better position than rolling. I guess I'm just so accustomed to "roll everything" that it's hard to break out of that comfort zone and experiment

Couple things: 1) I found out ONGBAL keeps torrent and flasks in the same quick menu slots I do(!) which is pretty validating (0:48) 2) at the top of the key of their quick menu I’d the blasphemous claw and I was like “yooooo what’s THAT for??” lol. Commander Gaius is so underrated and gets way too much hate. Honestly one of my favorite bosses in the DLC. Super fun moveset. I just wish he got his own boss music since he’s a remembrance boss. I think the main reason people dislikes this boss is that the vast majority of players are people who play this game have a weird infatuation with rolling directly backwards when they want to dodge, and this boss pretty consistently counters that if you let him, he’s specifically designed for you to be the one chasing him - if you let him chase you, you’re less likely to get good hits in

For this fight, I like to use the Crucible Feather Talisman to improve dodge rolls, so I never had any problems with his charge attack. My experience with him turned out to be very balanced and fun, but it's a shame that I had to use a talisman for that. Great fight still, it feels like an improvement over the Erdtree Knights and has more spectacle to it.
