The dlc added a lot of cool weapons with great ashes of war. However, the one that stands out the most is Nanaya's torch as it not only deals fire damage but also madness in a wide area, ideal to deal with groups

Nanaya’s Torch is a new weapon added in Shadow of the Erdtree. It can be found on a corpse is Midra’s Manse, which is presumably Nanaya’s. The weapon can be upgraded using somber smithing stones, and has E scaling in Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Arcane. The weapon also inflicts madness build up.

you gotta check out the messmer soldier axe!! underrated sleeper hit of the DLC, has the same charged R2 as the warped axe but has a buff on it that increases attack of charged hits, so using it with cragblade + axe talisman + 2 handed talisman + charge attack wondrous physick it does heavy damage. I use it with fire affinity and it’s super easy to get

I recommend trying a tooth-whip + a weapon with poison flower blooms twice on it, it makes for a pretty nasty combo, where you can get someone poisoned with the whip, as well as use the painful strike true combos to both reduce stamina regen of the opponent and ideally get them low and poisoned, allowing you to absolutely nuke them when they run to heal with the poison flower ash of war

This is the weapon i ended up using for most of the DLC! its- *Good for fighting dragons. *Has high physicals damage and good poise damage. *Crouch attack into R1 is a good quick double thrust combo. *Ash of war is solid when you can find a window to use it. *Has innate bleed, which is low but a nice bonus. over all, love this bad boy :D

Death Knight’s Longhaft Axe aow only moves you forward when you are locked on, however if you free aim the ash you can go in any direction with the lightning dash and switch directions mid air for the jumping heavy axe slam. It basically turns into an upgraded Blind Spot. I dont know how effective it is in pvp but in pve its so much fun. You’ll find a way to make it useful.

There's one small thing that i wish this weapon did. As we know the ash of war covers the weapon in an anti-dragon aura and charging the ash shoots the aura. Now here me out. Imagine if the uncharged ash left the weapon buffed with the aura. Like use it raw to buff the weapon for the usual ~45 seconds and charging it shoots the aura off as usual. It would give more of a reason to not charge it as currently there isn't really a reason to not charge it (at least in PvE that is). Would this be a cool idea?
