@@VoraelTo be fair, there has been precedent of phantoms not being able to wrap their head around a well-rounded build. And by that I mean „Don’t level vigor until there is no other choice“.

Just some Patches notes: - Yes, he will recognize you without you needing to hit him, it just takes a few seconds lol - You can get a third gesture from Patches at any time by getting him angry (punching him with bare fists works), then letting him lower your health a bit. After letting him bring you to about 50% HP, he will tell you to beg for mercy, which will then give you the next gesture. To get him to be friends with you again, it’s easiest to just let him kill you

For the Rykard fight I always end up shield-poking with shunter because of how fast it shoots the wind. Or if you have a second Great Spear powerstancing it with shunter gives them both the wind attack... it just chews through stamina a bit fast for my taste.

I just use the standard charged attack. The ash of war is too slow to frequently punish Rykard and the damage is pretty comparable

just wanted to share, i believe +18/+7 is appropriate at RL 90, but +17/+7 is already pretty much ideal to get more frequent invasions. not too great a difference unless one wants a little more damage. just sharing because i invade frequently at RL 80 with +17/7. it's a really fun bracket with organic invasions in a wide array of locations. just enough points to do satisfactory damage, and use all the extra tools/equipment available at higher levels

How is it for higher levels? 125 is +25/+10? What about the other levels from 90-125?

@@Goku-zu3rk +25/+10 is where you want to be for RL 125 and up. approximately +18/+7 for RL 90 , +19-20/+8 for RL 100, +22/+9 for RL 110, and then +25/+10 beyond that. *please note these ranges are only approximations. and brackets are merely guidelines for more frequent invasions (or co-op); there's a little wiggle room in between each of these levels, not everyone abides by such specific coordinates. i recommend checking out the summon range calculator on the wiki if you want a more accurate answer EDIT: also, if you didn't know, a somber weapon level is around 2.5x the amount of a regular weapon level. this can help you gauge how much to upgrade when invading/co-oping at sub-meta levels. i've invaded at RL 60 with +12/+5, RL 80 with +17/7, and 150 and 168 at +25/+10. hopefully this gives you an idea of where you want to be/how much to upgrade

all my builds are also in the 70-90 range with 17/7 good dmg enough to burst and alot of variety in locations and much more organic invasions than 125+ id say nearly 80% of them are coop run throughs with appropriate leveled phantoms which is really really fun

First playthrough I had such a hard time fighting the ulcerated tree spirits. Used to be my least favorite enemy in the game. But after fighting them what feels like 100 times I can no hit them with ease

Hi Chase. Great staff as always. If I may I think you forgot to pick up a wizard spell at mountain tops when you fought the fire Prelate. Also at the end with Patches if you attack him and he becomes hostile you can unlock one more gesture :)

+18 weapons might be a good call. Most people jump right to +18 after getting the smithing stone bell bearing (3) at the mountaintops. It would bring the bottom end of your invasion range up for more runes, as well as giving you better damage output 👍

Also, wrong warping to Farum Azula doesn't effect the story/quest lines unless you kill Maliketh and lock yourself out of Leyndell

I like hearing your opinion on the hard swapping debate. Obviously you're the poster child for hard swapping. So I would assume that you were for it. Side note watching you is the reason I practice hard swapping I'm terrible at it, I always start tripping over my fingers in a real invasion.

Hardswapping is absolutely cheating, however, from will never do the easy fix so if you do pvp its mandatory.

Fromsoft took the time to lock you out of crafting when in combat, but did not for your weapon inventory. They did that for a reason and the fact that multiple souls games require changing your weapon in a boss fight (yhorm from ds3 and rykard in elden ring) tells us they intend it. If you dont enjoy it thats fine but it is in no way cheating lol

Interesting. I don't find Chase's reasoning compelling at all but I agree with his conclusion. It's tech, like wave dashing in Smash. Clearly not something that's meant to be part of the core experience in my opinion. But certainly not cheating.

To answer your question on the Ulcerated Noodle Boys: The strongest ones are actually post-Maliketh in the Capital of Ash. In an open area near the lift that takes you to that Golem for the Dew Talisman and a portal to the Isolated Tower (Malenia's), there are THREE whole boyos with the highest dmg and HP pool (18k) of the game, protecting the Erdtree Favor +2 talisman. And no, none of them drops anything unlike all the others. Even the one in Lake of Rot, under the grace near the stairs, drops a Golden Seed, despite the area being the worst one to fight one in, next to the Haligtree one.

I can confirm that WrongWarping to Faram Azula doesn't affect any quests; but killing Malekith does (since it sets the Capital of Ash state, and moves Gideon to the capital). Might be interesting to find out what happens when you take the Frenzied flame (thus alienating Melina), and then cure it with your Plasidusax arena access, all before committing the sin. (not a softlock, since I'd assume you'd still have graces in FA.)

I always use Black flame tornado against Rykard and it’s always a nice choice! Don’t be worried about the lava around Rykard just use some buffs and stay near to him believe me it’s not worst than being far away from him and you’ll be fine! Usually black flam tornado is efficient against most bosses in the game. I defeated him with level 10 character by using this method.

AFAIK there's nothing you'll miss out on for skipping fire giant and Maliketh if you wrong warp. Everything that would be progressed you've already done, and I've had no trouble with my taunter's tongue character (I skipped as much as possible, which turns out to be pretty much every boss. As far as I remember, I wasn't locked out of anything)

Try to always get at least 1 level per invasion session so u can keep up with the place u are and also not end under leveled at the end of the game. Even if takes long it increases the chances of finding some naked max level again

God bless the Banished Knights/Knights Greatsword. The best moveset and its kinda ruined regular greatswords for me. Also piercing fang on it quite fun if you want all the damage at once. Warrior jar shard and a +18 (iirc), mid 40s strength was doing a little over 1000 with each poke on bosses.

I think you should just level up your weapons a bunch with your PVE runes. It'll push you to at least having higher average invasions, and might push you into a point where you're getting more folks at really high levels.

I dont tend to keep serpent hunter on me, so when I get summoned for Rykard lately its been hogh poise, regen, and frostbite while standing in his/its legs

You should use st trinas torch to make the hosts sleep so they don’t mess with you attacking the phantoms

To make Rykard easy, put on a good regen, and stand IN the lava, right next to his body....a lot of his attacks will miss you there

You know I always wanted to play elden ring but never got around to it. It would be my first souls like game I’ve ever played and the urge grows ever stronger to play it. BUT IM BROKEEEEE 😭 I’ve always enjoyed watching others play games I’m interested in though so watching my skilled gamers play it is still as enjoyable even if I have yet to touch the game myself…. Yet if I ever somehow invade Chase though…. I’m cooked😔

Farum wrong warp will NOT block/disturb any questline. Rykard is fought easiest by simply jumping into the lava in front of him and then jump attacks. this way, the head can’t reach you and you only receive baby damage by lava.

I have been trying to get the vulgar militia shotel to drop and farming them around calid at 50 odd and have been invaded (taunters tongue) about 30 times tonight, not a loss yet!, but I am now tired and don't even want the weapon... Got me like 10-15 levels too.. so you can get a decent amount of souls from invaders, even the ones connecting from the moon.
