This sorta borders a theory I have. I think it's the shaman blood that made Marika's children easy prey for the outer gods. Specially her kids with Radagon, it's the hapsburg jaw for possession by gods.

Romina being a Shaman makes so much sense. I always thought that her apearance looks like a burnt victim and the centipee and scorpion were burnt together with her and blended their flesh like the crucible of life. Her being called "Saint" makes me wonder if she was ever in a pot to become one. Great video :)

@the_destroyer6579 please see this theory: Leda in kitty Gael cosplay sliced off rykards ass cheeks using an origami replica of the sword of night and flame after which it was revealed that godwyn and fortissax was actually drinking someone's urine which was posted online for everyone in the land of reeds to see. Leda was convinced by her fellow needle knights to do a uwu kitty cosplay because they were stupid. Leda was reluctant but accepted after her colleagues paid her 84484858585855 runes each. Rykard arrived to the haligtree to meet Malenia as he had left an machine gun near her boss room yesterday during a failed attempt to demonstrate the volcano manor divisions torture devices to Malenia(miquella was visiting leyndell). Leda thought rykard was going to burn the haligtree so she put on Gael cosplay on her kitty cosplay, sliced off ryksrds ass cheeks using an replica of the sword of night and flame she had her son(yes Leda definitely had children) fold from origami. Rykard immediately slapped Leda off the railings and rested at the nearby site of grace to respawn his ass cheek. Meanwhile in leyndell, godwyn, vyke and fortissax are eating yellow liquid which patches had his men served them at the 5 star restaurant ThePatchShop. Patches claimed it was a amazing fluid from an animal said to grant creatures the ability to rickroll with their mind. Patches men secretly placed cameras around the group as they prepared to eat. The cameras were recording the group for a livestream which the entire land of reeds was watching. As for how the land of reeds had social media, well patches introduced it. As for how the land of reeds had time for social media if they were at civil war, this was before there was even a civil war. after godwyn, vyke and fortissax had consumed the dish, patches revealed the substance was actually isshin ashinas urine he had collected, shocking the group. Patches also revealed that he was libestreaming everything to the land of reeds, causing the group to faint in embarrassment. Rykard showed up and questioned what had happened. Patches explained only for Rykard to demand his subordinate to close down the restaurant which patches reluctantly did. Patches then decided to play Bloodborne in volcano manor with ghiza and Bernhal cuz why not. (They were playing on 3 seperate ps4s patches bought in Japan despite being in the same location ). Patches then had an organism while playing Bloodborne and someone said ooooooooooooohrise now ye tarnished. And by organism, patches just had his men successfully kidnapped handler Walter while playing Bloodborne and handler Walter was an organism. The someone who said ooooooooooooohrise now ye tarnished was tanith who was trying to mimic the elden ring intro. For more absurd theories check out the community posts on this channel @ シンゼロ .

I’ve always wondered about Romina being called a “Saint” too. Now I’m thinking more on St. Trina Very much a fan of the grafting and blending theory. Especially since it looks like the centipede and scorpion body parts are replacing Romina’s legs

She also has a wasp stinger underneath her. I think it's more of an aspect of death as a form of rebirth in the style of metamorphosis. Rot is a byproduct of Abundance. Rot is an effect of Disease. Rot is an effect of Venom.

7:38 The centipede part is possibly connected to the fact that in japanese culture they represent decay, stagnation, rot and impurity/kegare, a central concept in shintoism. It's a theme present in other fromsoft games, like vermins in Bloodborne and the senpou monks in Sekiro. Kegare is found within corpses so it's not a surprise that in Elden Ring the centipede mark is also linked to death

We know Shaman Village has one somewhat inside a tree, where we find the gesture. Bonny Village has another one in the same pose, but near a dead tree. Theres no proof it was from their own will, but i'm inclined to believe their culture would be around trees and flora in general

The woman in the trailer IS Romina, because, if you listen carefully, part of her Boss Theme, her Second Phase, is in the Trailer Theme too! JUST like, obiviously, part of Miquella's Boss Theme was inside the Trailer, but we didn't know it yet! I never thought Romina could be a Shaman! Makes PREFECT sense tough! Maybe she somehow escaped from the Potentate's before she was stuffed into a jar, and made her way to the Church!

When Romina "found a twisted divine element and weaved it into the baleful scarlet rot," does that mean that she brought the scarlet rot to the Lands of Shadow and then it cursed/infected Malenia in the Lands Between after? Like Romina predating Malenia and being responsible for the rot even existing in the game's reality?
@warpstorm1988Күн бұрын
I like the idea of her being a shaman; it fits with what The Tarnished Archaeologist and Smoughtown put forward that Marika was a maiden of a church before becoming a goddess. Maybe Romina and the Church of the Bud were collateral damage in the razing of Belurat?

Couldn't agree more. Romina is a numen. This challenges the widely shared notion that Marika's crusade was motivated by the treatment of her kin in the land of shadow. Romina wasn't jarred prior to messmer's crusade. Seeing as she is the only person in the dlc actually described as a saint, this could suggest that the hornsent penchant for jarring was motivated by her transformation. An enemy that deserves a second look in relation to this issue is the broken statue. They too are long-lived, meld well with others and possess that straight fair hair typical of marika and the shamen.

I’m curious what your take is on if a Age of Rot ending would truly be a bad thing? The concept of Rot is all about life, death and then new life from death. Like a life dying and becoming soil, to breathe new life into the next. It’s a stark contrast to Marika’s ‘deathless’ age, and the Frenzied Flame just ending everything, souls included.

It's probably just the Japanese choosing names that sound cool and add grandiosity, but why is she called a saint when saints are those that died for their faith (leaving out the specifics to Christianity).
