Despite the DLC not giving any confirmations, your theory is probably the best we will ever get. Strange, I always thought Ranni's mentor to be someone else like maybe Melina, but the wraiths that ride animals is an unexpected connection I hadn't thought of. That marking you mentioned, under Ranni's eye, Melina has something similar going on, it's incredibly sus.

I'm curious why the 2nd lion uses Death Blight. There's no other real connection to Death in this ritual or its practitioners. Especially when it's in a place more connected to Rot than Death.

I still think that using Radahn and Mohg was a backup plan for Miquella after trying to resurrect Godwin failed, previously wanting to use Godwin's soul after he was truly killed with Mohg's body instead of Radahn's. Miquella calling on his old Oath with Radahn made when he was going to just be a replacement for Marika and before learning about the history the Golden Order was built on, but needing to kill him because he knew that Radahn wouldn't accept the reality of the Golden Order that we learn about in Shadow of the Erdtree.

It's pretty sad to think about it, but Mogh got tricked by 3 Gods. First Marika, who told him that he is a monster unworthy of her or anyone's love. His only purpose is to go into the sewers to protect the darkest secret of the golden order. Second the formless mother, who found him in the sewers when one of his horns pierced one of his eyes. She promised him power and freedom in exchange for blood and wounds. Still he was only a puppet for her. And third and last Miquella, who bewitched him and made him fall in love with him, influencing his entire will. Promising him to be his king consort, where in reality Miquella always just wanted Mogh just to die so he could use his body for his true plans. Mogh really never had a chance.
@square-table-gamingКүн бұрын
To be fair we don't really know if he was only a puppet for the formless mother. It's possible her promises were true and it was Miquella's enchantment that stopped him from achieving his true goals
@drakmendoaКүн бұрын
@@square-table-gaming True, but we also don't know how much Miquella lead Mogh away from his true goals. With people like Varre and Okina in his ranks I doubt he had a lot of noble goals from begin with. And then there is the fact, that there are several groups that work for the formless mother, but don't know from each other. So it seems a little bit to me like she is playing one group against another just for her amusement.

The cool thing about the Midra fight - well, there are many cool things, but the coolest - is that, in my case, I'm currently going for the Frenzied Flame ending on the character I went into the DLC with. So, for me, it was Lord of Frenzy Vs Potential Lord of Frenzy and felt like the most personal battle in the game.

The fact you don't get the "Enemy Defeated" when you beat her, implies she isn't dead. Just wounded and ran from us in fear So IF Elden ring gets a sequel, she will likely return in some way

Silver is often interpreted as the sort of "kryptonite" or weakness of various supernatural/folklore creatures such as vampires, which may fit for a hunter of witches and undead. Additionally, silver has anti-bacterial properties to the point that it is even used in hospital catheters, so perhaps that could also back up the anti rot/decay themes of D

I like the different ways in which many characters interpret Miquella’s charm, It isn’t just plain black and white. Most of them see it as more of an extension of Miquella’s aura/presence, rather than directly “mind control.” - Leda becomes almost unchanged as a result of breaking from Miquella’s charm. in fact, the charm inhibited Leda’s innate chaotic intentions - freyja is pretty much unchanged breaking from the charm. Her loyalty to Miquella was before she was charmed, when miquella saved her life. - the Hornsent NPC grows a little weary from being freed from the charm. More cautious. Yet, has faith Miquella would still yet deliver divinity to his clan as promised. Obviously, we find out that the reason why he was charmed is because his lust for revenge would inevitably turn him towards Marika’s bloodline (I.e Miquell) despite their deal. - Ansbach was directly a victim of Miquella. He was personally insulted and attacked after what Miquella did to his Lord. As such, the charm was much more aggressive in this instance. Breaking free from it made him revert to his initial biases - that Miquella ruined his Lord’s dignity. - Moore remains unchanged. He loses purpose, abandoned by his mother. So Miquella breaking the charm broke Moore’s chance to have a parental figure, someone who he could look up to. - Dane is the most Loyal of Miquella’s fellowship. Unlike Leda, Dane fully and purely remains unchanged, whereas Leda become more dangerous and chaotic - which probably concerned Miquella. Dane likely knew about the charming too. - Thiollier’s unshackling results in him finding his “true” path. He doesn’t even dislike Miquella when he becomes uncharmed, just confused. It isn’t until he embarks on a journey to St. Trina where he finds the truth in the implications of what Miquella’s doing

In the intro they show a picture of him being hanged and it looks like they're throwing crap at him (literally). I always assumed this is how he got his name. They threw manure at his face and called him the "dungeater" to shame him.
@square-table-gaming3 күн бұрын
I believe it's the reverse. He's the dung eater because of the horrific act of eating souls which FromSoft depicts as coming from your behind. Because of his name they threw dung at him when he was strung up.

When it comes to our first meeting with Leda I feel like it was an extreme fooley of miscommunication. My personal logic is that Leda wasn't there to encourage folks to go to Miquella, Miquella sent her to kill Mohg and bring back his body. When she arrives, we have already killed Mohg and this is why she thinks we were answering Miquella's call/request. She sends us ahead and, for whatever our individual reason, we play along. Based on her personality, I think she sent us ahead so she could bring back Mohg's corpse alone and take all the credit.

Knowing what we know thus far about needle knight Leda, I wouldn't be surprised if Miquilla would have kept her around to help achieve his goals, only to cast her away when they have been achieved. If she managed to thwart our tarnished, due to her trust issues and murderous intent, it was only a matter of time before she turned her blade on the others to prove her devotion to Miquilla. Miquilla would recognize this and would inevitably try to eliminate Leda out of fear that she might turn on him if he failed to live up to her expectations. In any case, whether she came to the realization that he wasn't truly the kindly Miquilla she had come to worship or driven by the betrayal of him trying to get rid of her, it was only a matter of time before she turned her blade on him in the end.

In regards to summoning Leda for help with Rellana... Make sure to consider your build before you do it. If you impose status effects on the enemy in any way (both build-status and things like Black Flame or the Moon Sorceries), you'll probably want to avoid bringing her. Her weapon's Needle Piercer skill negates all status effects - both positive and negative - if even a single one of its needles hits home. And she's very fond of _spamming_ it, even (or perhaps _especially)_ when it's counterproductive.
@trashmagics4 күн бұрын
That’s interesting and makes me wonder if that’s one way she was always able to resist miquellas charm
@benjaminfinlay8294 күн бұрын
@@trashmagics Probably not. Her spamming of it continues even when you're not using debuffs on Rellana (as I discovered when I switched to using Comet). Though she does seem even quicker to use it when you're using Glintstone Icecrag or Ranni's Dark Moon. It could be that it's just an oversight, with her only having one AI setup that's coded for your later encounters with her, when she's fighting _you,_ who is far more likely to have some sort of buffing status effect running. (Though the fact that she also fights you when you might be Rotted by Moore still makes it a bit odd.)
