I just wanted to say that as disillusioned and jaded as I've become moreso recently with exploratory analysis or presentation regarding Elden Ring/SOTE, this channel has maintained a sense of integrity through it's consistency and clear objective. This is a very accessible sort of bestiary or glossary of sorts that compliments the game as an experience tremendously well. Elden Ring came at such a pivotal point for me personally and allowed me to see the value in the transformative process of art giving meaning to that which is pain, struggle, and even suffering. This motivated me so much (in a time when motivation seemed no longer possible) I broke apart the game to learn how I could explore it's potential as a greater storytelling medium. Pair with that no longer being able to practice my skill as a researcher/investigator I found the story to be it's own puzzle full of themes to identify and understand comparatively to real world inspiration. Lately I've felt most of what I've seen is an opportunistic "told you so!" in the form of what is, at best, an extraordinary reach to entertain a thought exercise in suspension of disbelief. Worse, it's only cultivating a discontinuation of open dialogue and ideas by gatekeeping who can partake (in my own experience mind you). There are some videos people create that have such extraordinary reach and that appears to be both by design and it's primary objective. I do not take issue with this being created in itself but rather what appears to be it's primary intention that causes harm to those who could further contribute to growth artistically and exploring new concepts and ideas. This is all to say I appreciate this channel not being exploitative and sticking to it's very useful and clear direction. There is a lot of noise and cognitive overload beyond just the discussion of video games but it was heart breaking to see what for me was a profoundly important and valuable experience become so impacted and, dare I say, tarnished in it's own right. Keep up the work and thank you for being kind.

Thank you for enjoying our content. I love to throw my theories out to the community as well but I try to keep it grounded and make it clear when I'm just speculating. I'm really glad this series acts as an objective glossary of info in your opinion!

Rakshasa in Sanscrit means "Destroyer" but it also shares etymology with the Greek word for bear Arctos. The fur that lines Rakshasa's armor could be from the great red bears.

I just noticed that the style of armor and weaponry corresponds to the cardinal direction of the mausoleum and roughly the historical warriors of our world. Western is a knight in plate armor, northern is a Viking/highlander type, southern is middle eastern/North African desert warrior, and eastern has a great katana but named after a Hindu creature.

Hey STG I really really love your Elden Ring lore videos, the editing and narration especially. I was wondering if you guys were ever planning on doing any long form Bloodborne lore videos in the same format as your Elden videos? I know BB lore has been covered countless times but you guys being my go to favorite lore channel it would be cool to see how you guys would do it. Anyways thanks for the video as always, you guys are the best

Thanks for digging out stuff! I'd love to talk about Bloodborne and dig into it's enemies this way but I feel like we wouldn't really be adding anything to the overall conversation. Bloodborne is still my top souls game but I feel like it's been picked clean from a lore perspective.

Honestly, with all the places we have named but no visual of, makes me hope for a second and third dlc, less about the challenge like this one, but more of a lore dive into "the land of reeds" and "Rhanna". Rhanna would offer more depth to Melainia, The Flowing Swordsman, The Red Dancer, and even the warrior, while the land of Reeds would explain the ROB and its owner, the samurai, and maybe even more on Mohg. For even a 4th dlc we could journey to The Badlands where Hoara Loux reined

Do a video about Needle knight Leda and Moore . Why she is called a needle night ? Why her face unmasked looks like a female Miquella ? Why we find an Armor similar to her set in a church far from her place ? What is the connection between Moore and the kindred of rot because it says his armor material is a gift from an outer god ?
@tayzebenson61903 ай бұрын
She's called a needle knight because of miquellas needles that could quell the influence of outer gods, which is also why her weapon skill removes all effects/buffs/debuffs from the target. Oathseeker knights are knights that set out on a journey to find an oath to take. Needle Knight Leda was one of these oathseekers and took an oath to serve miquella. Her armor set is an altered/personalized version of the oathseeker set, signifying that she found her purpose. Moore's armor seems to be a gift from an outer god connected to the ancient civilization of Rauh. The shattered stone talisman is a linchpin made of the same verdigris metal, and the talisman makes it seem like the material was strong enough to allow entire cities to float with minimal support. I would guess that the forager brood lived in harmony with the people of the ancient ruins, when rot was an extant form of life and not just festering decay. I don't think the verdigris metal is a gift from the god of rot, but one from a different, older outer god.

Are you sure it was the Hornsent that sealed them away? I didn't see anything that would point to them being the reason for their concealment, like the mausoleums don't look like something the hornsent made. There is also some things considering the timeline even though the timeline itself isn't anything concrete anyhow but I digress. If these are tarnished then they would have probably been active during Marika's crusade, especially considering some of the npc's, like Rykard went and met Tanith and her sister the nameless dancer in Ranah and came back with them, and with Red Bear being a Redmane. That would mean Radagon and Rennala have been married already for a while to where Rhadan is already a adult with his forces. I don't know the timeline exactly with it being so loose and fromsoft letting player's put pieces together, but I'm pretty sure I heard that the crusades where already going strong when Radagon was attacking Liurina at least against the giants by that point. So these tarnished probably gave up parts of themselves for strength during the war with the hornsent right? It would make sense to me considering you'd need strength during a war with a faction as powerful as them.
