However Nightreign isn't going to be a battle royal, they've stated that themselves. The only reason why people are calling it that is because of one mechanic. There's not going to be a pvp system which is something they've stated and the game is something people had been wanting for a long time, a boss rush with all the Soulsbourne bosses.

I’m always down to play some weird spin-off games. Monster Hunter has a development cycle where they do a mainline game and then a portable one where they try a bunch of weird stuff. They then take the stuff that works from the weird one and incorporate it into the next big game, and the series is better for it. If Nightreign ends up helping create better games in the future I’m absolutely on board with it.

If anyone has ever play risk of rain 2 this game is basically a risk of rain 2 like. The director 100% got inspiration from it. Fort(Night)riskof(Reign)2. Risk of rain 2 is very fun for anyone who hasn’t played 10/10 would recommend.

While I do think this game will have a rough launch in terms of how folks are going to like it, I can’t say this is a crash grab attempt: It’s not going to be price at the normal rate, it has no live service crap, and lately Formsoft doesn’t seem to green lit stuff unless it’s has some chance of success, even if it’s small in margin. So I think this game will be good, even if won’t be a smash success.

Is it just me or have we gotten to the point where we just want to be upset? Not to say people can’t be skeptics, but you would think after many great non traditional souls-like titles that we wouldn’t be so apprehensive to this. For me personally, I was sold the second I saw it may have a parry system similar to Sekiro. Going with dodge rolling again felt like a step back in Elden Ring. Modern bosses just aren’t that engaging to roll against. In the older titles the dodge feels great because bosses and enemies were designed around it. Heavy input reading along with quick boss attacks just feel like cheap mechanics when your only defense is the roll. Especially when Elden Ring bosses have some of the most wild hitboxes FromSoft has ever made. It just doesn’t feel great when the enemies don’t play around the main mechanics well. You can’t convince me Commander Gaius was designed or balanced with the intention to work well within Elden Rings mechanics. This new title finally gives us the chance to play Elden Ring with more refined combat. I don’t know how anyone who genuinely enjoyed Elden Ring wouldn’t be excited for improved combat and seamless coop. The great thing about this game being coop as well is that it allows us fans to try and get our friends to play. Much easier to convince your buddies to play with you than to convince them to play some hard game by themselves

"Roguelike survival battle royale with destiny elements" is not a description, it is upsettingly vague, to the point where most people imagine the game itself to be directionless, when in reality it is just the horrendous state of writing about games.

Ngl, this sounds more like a mod rather than an actual fromsoft game. Even ignoring the way soulsbournes are made, i don't see this working too well unless fromsoft heavily revamps tge progression system. Reduce the amount of unnecessary content like worthless armors and weapons and random consumables, heavily speed up the progression of power for players considering they'll be constantly dying and restarting from scratch, also reduce the cheap shot BS since they're already going to be stuck in a shrinking area field. If they can do that at the bare minimum it might be good.

It's just going to be a rogue lite/like set up in the souls or elden Ring world. So yeah, an entirely different kind of game. It shouldn't be a revamp of anything soulsbornes do, but an entirely new progression/equipment/leveling system. As a fan of both souls and rogues, I am incredibly excited for this game. It seems that the main complaints come from the fact it is not going to be a soulsborne like most of FromSoft's games

I'm just royally tired of the girth of Elden ring. The entire game is so dense that by the time I come complete the first run, I was too exhausted to do it again. Then the DLC got added which I tried to tackle. Even rebought the game on PC, but I couldn't complete it. The spinoff just isn't for me.
