This has nothing to do with a culture war, you're turning it into one. She was very obviously built to become a protag by the end of the Witcher 3, the details of her becoming a witcher were likely creative liberties to keep the game fun and exciting as she's really just a hunter in the novels, but regardless, the original comment was out of touch and the devs themselves verified everything I've said recently.

That's being disingenuous to what I'm saying. Females and Adults cannot become Witchers, it's in the Lore, just like not all men survive the Trial of the Grasses(3-5 at most out of 10 survive it). I like Ciri, but she cannot be a Witcher like Geralt, and even Geralt, Yen, and Triss wouldn't want her to be a Witcher bc it's not a choice. She can be Witcher in name, but that's it. Hell, Geralt even says it in Witcher 3. If she becomes a Witcher, she can't have kids, and she'd be weaker than what she is.

In the lore, women die trying to become witchers. It's not that they can't be one, it's that none have been strong enough. Also, the author has said he doesn't care about some strict lore. None of what you're saying is true.

@@Bloodangel653 there's a 2019 interview where he says he does not care what people do with his characters in other mediums. He's also said in several interviews that while he doesn't like video games, he's satisfied with what cdpr has done.

@jfkonlsd1364 I got excited when they posted the initial announcement of the different witcher medallion. The books and games aren't hand in hand stories,so I was hoping for a new story in the same world. CDPR has been taking my money forever and this game isn't going to change that

​@@synjata8670yh CDPR have the opportunity to add so much world building to the witcher through the games. The books never really handled world building so it'll be cool to see what CDPR come up with.

The director said she went through the trials and the player will witness it during the game. I'm wondering how Geralt and Yen will react to it or if they are a part of it.

My guess would be this is either a creative liberty to keep the gameplay interesting or it's gaslighting everyone and it's some sort of secondary path to a become a witcher. I'm sure we'll find more out as we go, either way, I'm excited

Congrats, don’t buy it. Most people view it as a loose adaptation, as CDPR has never once said it was trying to stay true to the source material, but keep complaining

@@dr_diddyI don’t know exact books/chapters and if you are asking I doubt you do too. But the characters are portrayed very differently in the games than the books, like they have entirely new personalities. The primary ones that stick out to me are Triss Marigold and Kiera Metz. Geralt is also extremely different in the games, not the same man he was in the books. That is what people don’t like, the Flanderization of their favorite characters.
