You know, I am very grateful to have my own testimony of God the Eternal Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Elder Bednar is an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, wholly committed to following the inspired Doctrines and Teachings of the restored Gospel. I am always amazed by his wisdom and his ability to explain ‘simply’ the Lord’s Divine Plan and Purpose, along with explaining the ‘everyday’ functions of how to live through the ‘lens of the Savior’. His focus takes us ‘out of the world’s way of making choices’ and into a realm of relying upon the inspiration of God to help us lead our Best lives. He is a Disciple of Jesus Christ and is well-loved because he is a profound teacher of truth. We love him.

It is so refreshing to hear someone in authority answer questions directly, without blame or negative swipes at others, and with a strong touch of kindness, If everyone---including those folks who love to comment online about some person or some religion---would demonstrate this style of respect, accountability, and honest responses, I think we would find that just maybe Americans are not as divided as the media would have us believe.

I really enjoyed this with Elder Bednar and the National Press Club in Washington!!! He was the perfect person/apostle in our church to be answering this lady/sister’s questions!!! Though I/we know these are other people’s questions… she had a lot on her mind, posing the question correctly and trying to listen and keep track of things… I just wish she didn’t shake her head like that… I know from not being raised in the church myself and shaking my head like that and I would not be listening to others!! And I noticed senator Mitt Romney over to Elder Bednar’s right!! Also a Latter-day Saint from our church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints…

It’s why so many members reach out to Mormon social media guru’s, Mormon psychiatrists, Mormon doctors for answers to deep questions in their lives. It’s why people like Jody Moore, Dr. Juli and Dr. Finlayson-Fife are so popular. They provide real answers to difficult, sometimes muddy questions. I have a tough time with general, formulaic answers from the presidency sometimes

I've never heard a better, more concise, statement of facts about the church. Reporters will do better if they speak to church leaders when considering stories with opinions from third parties. It's always good to understand that bias exists in all of us and that if we are to find truth, we must overcome it.

@patiencelongjohn31832 жыл бұрын
Declining of the church membership is not an issue because there is continuous decline in good things as the time of the Lord draws near. Even before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, many of his disciples and followers left him. Generally, people/ natural man can't maintain the constant effort required to have real good things for long. It takes the grace of God and continuous determination to remain on the right part. Look at it this way - to be and remain an A student/successful businessman, one must maintain and keep working at it, you stop, you begin to go down and going down is easier than going up. If you don't get it, then forget about it.
@terryslade62402 жыл бұрын

She kept out the most important part. The Church of Latter Day Saints does not have the name of Jesus Christ, she literally looked past the whole point of using the church name both times she said part of the church name. I don't know if it was ignorant or disrespectful, probably just ignorant, but I hope she does better next time
