@@dogcarman What's wrong with someone wanting something? So many of us would love the opportunity. Aren't people just being a bit petulant when it comes to him getting what he wanted? Starfield is a pretty good game, it's not for everyone, no game ever will be. Same with all the Bethesda titles, including 76. If you want to come and start saying how you believe they're "objectively bad" well, don't. There's nothing objective about something like enjoying a game, and you're just peddling opinion as fact to reach for an echo chamber so you can beat-off with others on the hate train. Todd is also one of the lead designers behind Morrowind. It's why he is where he is, and players like you and me, loved him for it. We put him where he is, because we believed he deserved it. Learn that having fun is still the foundation of Bethesda games, and learn how to have fun again.

I think it will be Hammerfell and Highrock, or, more specifically, it will be centered around the Iliac Bay. This allows them to easily integrate a ship/player-home system into the game similar to what they did with Starfield.

Some other clues about TES 6 taking place in Hammerfell are in fact in Skyrim. On the very intro, Lokir says "I could have stolen that horse and be halfway to Hammerfell if it wasn't for you", and also, the very "final boss" of Skyrim, the Ebony Warrior, is a Redguard.

Well they had no plans for tes 6 at that point, it didn't start pre production till like 2018 (not 100% sure lmao) so I wouldn't put much merit on it. Not to say tes6 isn't in hammerfell, it definitely is or at least partly but I don't think it was planned back in 2011

Honestly... Bethesda has taken too long. They have become one of the worst developers out there. Starfield was the accumulation of all of their bad game design habits and if TES VI is anywhere near as sanitized and hollow as Starfield and Fallout 4, it's going to be a terrible game. Not only do you have to worry about them failing at making it a good game, if it IS a good game, they want to monetize the hell out of it and once again try to make it last for 10+ years like they did with Skyrim. I patiently waited 6 years between Oblivion and Skyrim and I thought THAT was a long time. I've been waiting for 13 years for TES VI already and at this point. They released the TES VI teaser 6 YEARS ago in 2018. Who teases a game almost 9 years before it's released? With the direction Bethesda has gone the last few years, I don't expect much yet I think I will still be disappointed. I WANT to be hopeful about TES VI, but Bethesda's track record for the last 10 years has been nothing but re-releases and fetch-questy, boring and uninspired games that they market and hype up, only to overhype and under-deliver. The future of TES doesn't look good.

People who know the lore rightfully say it will take place in hammerfell. I love high rock and the bretons, but to say thats the locale of 6 is oblivion fanboi hope-cope. The real dream is high rock, hammerfell and orsinium in one giant map. Probably too much to ask for and wont happen, but id love to be proven wrong. Basically, we get high rock, or orsinium, or both, with hammerfell, or we only get hammerfell. Make no mistake, even if we do get all 3, hammerfell will still be the primary setting and focus

Modern Bethesda and depth is an oxymoron. They've proven themselves to be unable to make a deep, creative and fun game and incapable of providing a good RPG experience for the better part of 10 years. Fallout 4 was/is mid at best, FO76 was more of the same. Starfield was a space exploration game where you can't fly your ship and there's nothing to explore. If anything, what has been proven and what can be expected is for Bethesda to overhype TES VI and underdeliver in every aspect and expect modders to fill their game with meaningful content that keeps the game alive for another decade. In the interview with MattyPlays, Todd, in so many words, basically said he wants Bethesda to cling to games for 10 years or more to keep from having to make more than one game and keep re-releasing it to make money.

I was 18 when Skyrim came out, I didn't have anything better to do so I could afford to fully immersive myself in that game pretty much unlike any other I've played. It completely sucked me in. Now I'm 31 and I don't play games anymore because I invest time in other things. I hate that gaming developers are always waiting for "the next groundbreaking thing" to make sequels. Honestly, why couldn't they have just made another 2 games in this time, each with just some engine, graphics and gameplay updates we could have played and experienced thousands of hours of gameplay back when we actually had the time to do it. The next Elder Scrolls game is going to completely miss the generation that played their stupid game in the first place. Who the hell waits 17 years?

The active combat of Elder Scrolls combat is part of the charm. Most people wanting "upgrades" to TES combat want it to look more like God of War/Witcher, MMO animations where you click and button to do an attack, but you don't actually control your character as they are attacking, you are basically just watching them attack. It's the same problem a lot of combat "improvement" mods in Skyrim have. I like Elder Scrolls' combat being less flashy and more grounded. Click to swing your sword, aim where you want to hit, aim your spells, etc. Elder Scrolls has always been primarily a first-person game with third-person not even becoming a thing until Morrowind, and even then, it was mostly only used for inspecting your character or getting a wider view of the world.

2028 October...but will be obviously delayed till May 2029 as standard Bethesda. By then, the new consoles would have been out even though this game would have been designed for the Xbox series X. Atleast it will come out in 60fps. Literally the last chance for Bethesda or no one will care afterwards besides the fall out fans. But 2011 all the way to most likely a 2029 release date is a kick in the teeth for the fans, who waits that long to release your most successful game title. Dont care what your opinion is of skyrim, it was a critical selling juggernaut and brought bethesda games to a worldwide casual audience.

Pretty insane that 13 years after the release of ES5 and 6(!) years after the initial announcement trailer of ES6 all we have is a few tweets/snippets of info indicating the game is still likely another 5 to 6 years away. With 2029 looking the most likely release date it will have been almost two decades between sequels and 4x the gap between ES4 and ES5. More time will have passed between ES5 and 6 than the entirety of the Elder Scrolls series between 1994s ES1:Arena and 2011s ES5:Skyrim.

Its ben more then 1 year of production. Theyv ben working on pre production since 2016 because we saw them scan faces and environemnts for es6 in anniversary video. So production has ben goin on to some extent for at least 3 years now as the game is in playable alpha state. I would gige it max 3 more years 2026 or 2027

We have already been to Hammerfell so if this is the new location for Elder Scrolls 6, im disappointed. Thete ate are regions not yet coveted in the ganes that should be explored. My biggest hope/wish though is for a HUGE all encompassing game that includes ever regions. AND maybe focus on the Dwemer race. They have fascinated me since Morriwind and i want to know what happened to them. What life was like before they disappeared. I want to experience the epic battle between the Dwemer and the ither races. Want to explore Dwemer cities in their prime. Not abandobed and ruined.
