If you wanna do the main story then head to Khenarthi's Roost and to the Alliance questline. You might also wanna pick up the quest to talk to a mysterious benefactor which starts the Coldhabor quest, the true main quest.

With the magicka skills, you have the option to turn them into stamina once you level them up

It took me a minute to work out that leveling your skills lets you decide on a couple different variations. Thanks for that info!

so, in regards to your outro: there is no "correct" route to take anymore. that said, if you want to follow the original games campaign, then youll go to khenarthi's roost, followed by auridon to start the aldmeri dominion questline, being that youre a wood elf. have fun!
