Hi Pat and Glai: Thanks for posting a great playthrough and congratulations on the win. I really enjoy Lovecraft-themed games. The game was very exciting, with lots of ups and downs, but both of you powered through. Those Dark Pacts are TERRIBLE. I was shocked when the investigator was devoured... I didn't expect it. Both of you developed a solid strategy to complete the three mysteries and get the win. The content on the channel has been especially good as of late, and I'm glad to see both of you doing well. Looking forward to your next video. Regards, Keith

Hi Keith! It's really good to hear from you. How are things? Actually, we got Eldritch Horror based on your recommendation! I think you suggested it when we did our Halloween month of horror 2 years ago, but we already had our 4 horror games for the month at the time! Those Dark Pacts really are nasty. I was not happy at all when Lola Hayes was devoured. Fortunately we still managed to get the win, but it was tight. We are doing very well, thank you. Really glad that you are still enjoying our content. You have been watching for a long time now! Hope all is well. All the best!

Well played! I like this style of game due to its stress inducing qualities. It also looks (to me at least) that it offers a lot of "re-playability". Kudos to the game dev's and to Pat and Glai for an interesting playthrough! Love how you display the cards for us to read.

Hi RipTide. Yes, any of these Arkham games are filled with stress inducing qualities! But they certainly are a lot of fun. I think there is a lot of re-playability because you get 4 Ancient Ones that you can face in the base game, as well as 12 different investigators that you can try out. The cards are going to come out in different orders each time you play so you will never have the same game twice. Once again, we're really glad you enjoyed the playthrough! Cheers!

Nice presentation and a good video highlighting a number of elements of the game. The odds are always against the investigators, so congratulations on the win... and saving humanity!

Thanks Simon! Great to hear that you liked the video. It certainly isn't easy, but we were very happy to save humanity this time, though a couple of investigators did sacrifice their lives for it!

Just bought this game and played for the first time. Really enjoyed the vid. Rules and explanations were done well and we definitely made mistakes in our first game but can't wait to check it out some more!

Hi Poncho Dog! It's great to hear that you enjoyed the video. Glad that we were able to help you spot some mistakes you made in your game so you can correct them next time. Eldritch Horror is a lot of fun, and though there are a lot of little rules to remember, after a couple of games it gets more intuitive. Hope you enjoy playing the next time! Thanks a lot for your comment. :-)

Hi Greg! We really like this one too. The story is a lot of fun, and the difficulty really helps bring through the feeling of horror. I am a big fan of story-driven games and Eldritch and Arkham Horror are excellent for this. Thanks once again for your comment. It's great to hear that you are enjoying our videos! Cheers!

My wife and I recently picked this game up to play together. It’s very fun for the both of us. Expansions can be hard to find because this game is now so “old”, though the base game itself is very replayable without any.

Hi reventlov420! I agree - this really is a fun game. It's pretty tough, but it's supposed to be seeing as it's horror so I don't mind that so much. Haven't played any of the expansions, but as you say the base game has plenty of replay value. Thanks for the comment!

Hi Ian. It really is a great game. I am discovering that my favourite games to play are these story-driven games. I like sticking the Twin Peaks soundtrack on repeat in the background and getting down to it. Haven't played with the expansions. Does Cities in Ruin add a lot to it?

@@AllAboardBoardgames we tend to find some suitable creepy ambient stuff on KZbin and have that playing in the background! Hadn’t thought of the Twin Peaks soundtrack. I have used the Thing soundtrack - suitable sparse and bleak. Cities in Ruin gives you new characters, a new Ancient One (Shudde M’ell) and adds disaster cards and devastation encounters - which ramps up the difficulty, I won’t say how since I wouldn’t want to spoil it. I like it because it adds a new narrative and goal.

The best expansion is the one that adds Focus tokens (rerolls). Appears in one of the small box expansions and in Mountains of Madness as well.

@@ianhaygreen9899 The Twin Peaks soundtrack is superb! Really atmospheric music, and some great tunes in there too to boot. I can literally listen to it over and over. I am working on a playlist on Spotify for horror games so if you come across any other good tracks please let me know. I just got a couple from The Thing soundtrack - thanks for recommending that! I especially like the first 2 tracks. Cities in Ruin sounds pretty good... as if the game is not difficult enough! haha But that is part of what makes it great. Horror is, well, horror after all!

@@AllAboardBoardgames Try the Cryo Chamber label - they're on here and spotify. Many Lovecraftian albums and dark ambient stuff. Always good for an atmosphere.

Great video! Great game to play as well. If you get any extra content for this game start out with foresaken lore. Gives you more content to all the decks and adds 2 more mysteries to the ancient ones. All expansions are still available on Amazon. Also remember to add monsters every time you spawn a new gate. Looks like you caught that later on in the playthrough. The first couple gates that were spawned had no monsters to go with them. Glad I found your channel looking forward to more!

Hi Bill. We're really delighted you liked the video. Eldritch Horror really is a fun game. You can really get lost in the roaring twenties when playing it, and there are a lot of tense and exciting moments. It's pretty tough too, as you would expect from a horror game! Thanks for the expansion advice. It's always good to know that there is more material there to enhance the base game. Thanks also for letting us know about the monsters we forgot to spawn. Sorry about that... I have made notes in the Klingon subtitles so hopefully that will help people learning the game! We're glad you found our channel too. Hopefully you can find some other content here that you like. Cheers!

Thank you for making this game teaching process video. After watching it, I know the general gameplay of the game and benefited a lot. I would like to ask a question, which is the myth card process from 22:10 in the video;kzbin.info/www/bejne/ql7IpJ2BmN5qbpI If the effect of the myth card opens a new dimension gate, is it necessary to place another monster at the position of the new dimension gate (San Francisco)?
@AllAboardBoardgames
@AllAboardBoardgames Жыл бұрын
Hello. We're really glad this video helped you to understand how the game works! :-) As regards your question, yes, we should have placed a monster at the gate at San Francisco. Sorry for overlooking that. Actually there is a note about it in the Klingon subtitles. Thank you very much for your comment. Cheers!
