At 16:51 mentions that you "don't have to defeat the monster" to have a normal encounter, but that's wrong. You can't have a regular encounter unless every monster on that space has been defeated and there are no monsters left on the space.

You are correct. Thanks for pointing that out. I had it right but flubbed up the explanation. Annotated the video to correct it. Thanks again!

Had a question about monsters. Do you have to defeat a monster that spawns at a gate, but travels to another location, before you can close that gate? for instance I spawn a monster at a gate, but it travels to Antarctica and leaves the gate monster-less. Do I need to track down that particular monster and defeat it before I can close the gate it spawned from?

+Jason Zuniga Nope. Just whatever is on that particular location at the time.

This is one of my all-time favorites! Super light and heavy on story. More like a ride than a game, tbh. Now that it's complete I want to get one of the big, fancy crates some people make to protect everything. My buddies and I just draw everything at random and then set up (unless we want to do something specific) and kill the day, reading the cards with as much drama and silliness as we can muster!. Super fun, if not terribly complex. One of our very favorites!

I just got this game today. Played with two investigators. Lost bad, and quick, my first game. Second game had the doom track at 4, 5 gates open, 7 monsters, and 3 mythos cards left... barely completed the last mystery. 2 more turns would've awoken the ancient one. The game really tells a great story if you open your imagination to it.

Looks amazing--WANT!!! Shame about no minis, though. Anyone know if this works with the premium minis released by FF for Mansions and Arkham Horror?
@DriveThruReview11 жыл бұрын
Yep. It does I'm trying to resist buying a mini for each of the investigators in EH. I will probably pick up the cool dice though.

Quick question. When using a spell in the game, are they only single use or do you get to keep them and use them again?
@DriveThruReview11 жыл бұрын
Depends on the spell and how well you "succeed" when casting it. Varies within each spell even. Basically, it works like the Condition cards.

Alright thank you for the help.

Congrats on getting what I consider the first full review of the game. Looks like they streamlined it just like they streamlined Descent. Would you consider recording a playthrough? I know it's not really your bag, but I did enjoy your playthrough of Lords of Waterdeep on iOS. Pretty please?

Thanks. I've thought of starting to do this for some videos. I really enjoy that format as well. I am actually working on reconfiguring my office space and part of that is to help support possibly (stress possibly) doing some playthrough videos. I do think doing a full game of EH will go REALLY long though. I'll see what I can do!

I watch this review every time I have played Eldritch Horror. It would be awesome to have an Arkham Horror review from you. And according what you say here, that you miss the lack of strategy and the theme of the game, it would not wonder me that you will like Arkham Horror more. Maybe you will check Arkham Horror out some day. It is really worth it. Really! :)

One day! Eldritch has really grown on me since this review though. It's now one of my favorite games. The expansions add some needed depth and variability to the game, and more options for your turn.
