Thank you so much :D Luckily, this song uses very straightforward metaphor and imagery for its meaning, so it ended up being more of a localisation than a proper translation! Which meant more room for liberties with the lyrics. Some bits I chose to keep the same since they weren’t directly tied to language but rather culture - eg. Kali Yuga - and also because they flowed well :D Honestly, it’s a fair amount of just trial and error.

My favourite’s probably the crossover between the Japanese “red paper, yellow paper” and the English “red leather/lorry, yellow leather”!! I tried to use ones that I knew as a child :D

Nice translation, i've never understood the lyrics untill hearing this, just out of curiosity how long do these take you to make?

Thank you so much! Translation is 10-30 minutes, editing ust and tuning is 3-6 hours, illustration (this time!) is 6 hours, and MV is 4-8 hours - of course, I tend to space these things all out, so it takes a lot longer overall - maybe 4 weeks? I started working on this one pretty soon after the song came out! It’s quite fun though, so although it can be a drag sometimes, time seems to pass very fast!
